How should an 11 year old lose weight? -

I am 11 and exactly 18 pounds overweight,also I am 5 3. I really need to lose weight fast! any ideas- besides dieting

I m glad you re not into dieting because 11 years olds shouldn t be sucked into fad diets and fasting an such so kudos to you.I m also glad that at such a young age you are concerned with your health, but don t stress over it.You re in 5th grade or middle school, right? Join a sports team. Play outside with your friends. Walk around the block with your neighbors. Try to cut out some junk food and eat fruits and veggies. Eliminate some of those sodas and replace them with water or 100% fruit juices. :)

Stop eating junk food, because that s what s causing you to gain unhealthy weight. If you don t like eating vegetables then you have to get used to them or you may have a healthy vegetable or juice. You might have a hard time quitting, but it will help a lot. A good snack is mini carrots and ranch. Eat only small meals. Also, chew slowly so it will take more time to eat -- you will be able to feel yourself getting full instead of just stuffing your face. Also when eating snacks, eat fruits and veggies, although you must eat slowly! Exercise! Go jogging, ride your bike outside the house, roller blading etc. You can even create your own dance at home! Anything that will make you sweat!!! And remember, exercise at least an hour a day. Learn to say NO! Cutting your addiction to sugary foods will help you a lot. Don t follow any diet plans or choose foods because they claim to have fewer carbs. Carbs can turn into fat, but carbs also give you energy! So exercise those carbs off! The healthiest thing is to just be healthy! Take it in moderation, avoid fast food, and choose the healthier alternative. As a kid, you don t need to count calories. Just make better decisions. You should, do at least 10 sit-ups and 5 push-ups BEFORE every meal, this will help you lose weight a whole LOT faster! If you do this after you may get indigestion and/or an upset stomach. While listening to music on your iPod or MP3 player, dance to it. Knock yourself out. It may be a little embarrassing if someone catches you but at least you re losing weight and exercising. Excercise a lot with a friend or someone so that you do not feel alone

Hey I m 12, almost 13, and 5 4 . Dieting is a good idea, just change your breakfast to cereal and orange juice. You can save lots of calories that day. If you have time, do some low-impact exercise and build muscle with some weights, or even rocks. Once exercising is easier, just do it a lot and get back to medium-average so it s not a problem anymore. After you re back to normal, try to control your diet and make healthy decisions. Trust me, it s hard.

You are too young to go on a diet. You re still growing. I lost some weight when I was on the line for the correct weight for 5 4 girls and all I did was exercise more and eat healthy foods. Remember, you can have junk food but have it in moderation. Instead of having a whole bag of potato chips eat half of it at a time. Please don t stop eating or eat less, that really only hurts you. Everything is good in moderation!

I know you are going to hate hearing this but you have to exercise and eat healthy. You can t lose weight fast but just make small changes and join a sport or dance in your room anything that gets you active!!!

Let it be 11 yr old or 91 answer is same stop eating junk and start working out. FOr you it will be really easy because of your age. Just eat better food and start playing some kind of sport and you will shed pounds like nothing.

exercize and eat healthy foods, eat when your stomch is hungry dont over eat or eat to little.

drink alot of water, dnt eat to much shugary, fattie, foods , and do losts of exersice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Just go on a few runs now and then and just cut down of fatty snacks and try and keep active.
