Healthy weight loss--have you ever tried just eating plenty of wholesome foods? -

I m pushing 50 and climbing over 200 pounds on a 5 10 frame. I m wondering about just cutting out the junk food and eating a gracious plenty of healthy veggies, fruits, low fat meat, low fat dairy and whole grains. Treats and nuts would become weekly, rather than daily, fair. Ever tried it? Did it work? Any problems? Thanks.

My father went to the doctor and was told his cholesterol was high. Doctor put him on a non-fat diet. He ate all he wanted, whatever he wanted but stuck to the non-fat diet. With almost no effort he lost 25 pounds. It was a slow process, but yes I think it will work.If you eat like you re suggesting you ll go even faster.

Just eating lots of healthy food and having enough calories plus exercise will definitely help you lose weight.

If that doesn t work for you, I d suggest a high fat diet. You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.Your body won t release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow your metabolism to compensate and store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering your calories, it will continue lowering that set point, til you can survive off nothing and store fat on anything. The body will only release it s fat stores if it knows there is plenty of food.Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.Simple carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want something have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.Once you get near your goal, you start adding 5 carbs every week til you gain weight, then you subtract 10 carbs. That would give you your personal carb level (everyone is different and it depends on how active you are.) As long as you remain 9 carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control, and shouldn t gain weight. Many people gain weight on high carb, then switch to low carb to lose weight then are shocked when they return to high carb that they gain weight. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar and maintain weight or health.Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a diet Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz Life without Bread Taubes Good calorie, bad calorie are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

Healthy weight loss suggestions? -

I am currently 5 5, 128lb, I would like to be about 115lbs by April and toned. I have a gazelle and a gym membership. I was wondering what would be a good healthy diet to follow and what exercises should I do and for how long and how much. I was told that using a stationary bike is a good choice as well as walking to start. I do not want to take any diet pills I just want to choose a healthy diet plan and exercises.

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, whichwill lead to increase of weight, or muscle growunderneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet withoutexercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. Fordiet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no foodafter 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending onyour initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. Ifyou don t eat wheat then you don t eat all those sticky, fatty goeycakes, you don t eat junk food, and you don t eat biscuits. But yourdiet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have tocalculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is themost efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight alot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to targetyour problem areas for men and women. It s not necessarily to become abodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help youto target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Cross trainer is my favourite, you work all your body so you ll get in shape real fast. About diet its different for everyone, just eat less fat foods more fruit and veg. Also drink lots of watter to stay hydrated.Watch how you progress. Weight yourself tomorrow morning, then exercise for a week(3-4 times,40-60min), eat proper food. Check your weight following week, you ll see how you progress. Then you ll know how long it ll take you to drop 13lbs. I m guessing a pound a week so around 2-3 months to your goal. That will be april. So now you on your way, stop researching and start doing. good luck

What is a healthy weight loss rate? -

I m 18 and i weigh about 267 pounds, i ve gone up 15 easily from the start of college, now i am really concerned about it and i want to loose it as fast as possible like anyone else. I know eat aot of protein and go work out alot, but what constitutes a healthy weight loss per week? 1-3 pounds? How can i loose alot without going over the healthy rate? Thanks, best awnser will be rewarded! :D

up to 2 percent of your body weight a week try the lil Jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezrits so easy a baby could do it

you could probably lose anywhere from 1-5 pounds in a healthy way, starting out, but then it will go down to 1-2 pounds over time

Whats the best healthy weight loss exercise plan? -

i m in teen yrs and only wanna lose a few. so i was wondering if theres some kind of plan that you can do without changing your diet to much.

Here is what you need to do if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Lose weight) and you will have more energry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads) in one and protein (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have any or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross country skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension) (YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. So your body doesnt go into starvation mode, YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stick with this you will have a great body. also drink a least 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonalds, Wendys, etc because there is nothing good for you on the menus - even the salads are bad (bacon bits, cheese, dressing, etc) Good Luck :)

1) Eat more steam food, lean meat, vegies and fruits2) Cut out the junk food, soda drinks and snacks3) drink plenty of water / green tea4) Exercise - look at combining weights and cardio into your program. you can look at alternating upper and lower body exercises without rest, say bicep curls, then lunges , rest and repeat. With cardio, try sprinting 100m, jog 100m and repeat. Here s a review link to a programhttp://www.squidoo.com/burnthefat-feedth5) Have 5-6 healthy meals a day(1 plate portions) to keep your body satisfied6) if you have cravings drink water or eat fruitshere s an article to a healthy diethttp://lose-quick-weight.blogspot.com/20http://www.squidoo.com/dietsthatworkquic7) have an action plan for long term goals, start off with small goals and increase it gradually over time.

I just started a community blog for people going through overweight issues. Hopefully issues such as Diet pill rip offs get addressed by the community at large in this bloghttp://wheniwasfat.blogspot.com...

Your vegetarian diet will help keep your weight down, also running is a great way to lose weight without changing your diet too much. see my blog at http://weightcontrolinfo.com

www^fitnessfun^page^tl (Replace the ^ with dots) Great site

forget the dieting approach, you can be a vegan or a carnivore and still eat healthyThe secrets to fitness are pretty easy:find an exercise that you actually enjoy doing;participate on a daily basis, (every day or almost every day) even simple things like walking or riding bikes;add in some resistance training, like free weights or the weight machines about two or three times a week;gradually increase the exercise demands that you place on your body and you will get stronger and fitter: the body adapts to what it is forced to do by getting strongertry buying a step counter to keep track of how much movement you have in your ordinary day, you might be surprised at how motivating it is to walk an extra block in the parking lot or skip the bus ride just because it will add to your day s step totaldrink plenty of fresh water; drink tea; avoid all the sugar soft drinksthe number one diet supplement for increased fitness?(get ready to be surprised)caffeine, taken an hour or so before your workout, you will push harder and get better resultsif you are a girl, don t be afraid of weight lifting, you will NOT get big, because you simply don t have the testosterone factor working for you: you will slim down and get fitgood luck and have fun!

Maybe this will work for you. Eat what you like. Just keep it to1200 calories a day, (healthier is better obviously), and sweat and I mean SWEAT!! for 30-40 minutes a day 6-7 days a week.Walk, jog, swim, bike whatever. Remember the more you sweat the more you can add to your eating plan. Write down everything you eat with calorie content. This will give you an overall look at where you need to make changes. Don t cheat, you re only fooling yourself and don t skip workouts. Now here s the worst kept secret of losing weight. Don t eat after 6 pm. It s like a mini fast for your body and what better time to be hungry than when you re asleep? You should be losing about between 2-3 pounds a week, which is a healthy rate without starving yourself. Good luck. If you follow this lifestyle change your weight won t ever be a problem again.

Please answer , is excercise bike and cross trainer as efficent as treadmill? -

Hello my treadmill broke down just as I was to start a weight loss program , my mom is going to order a cross trainer and exercise bike tomorrow for me , are they just as efficient in losing weight?

treadmills are bad for your knees. It is not real walking. I would rather you buy another exercise bike.
