Can you suggest a REALISTIC weight loss program? -

I d like to lose 30 lbs in 6 months or less. I did it about 5 years ago using the Atkins but it was also because I wasnt eating from depression. IIve gained it back since. Much of it from drinking beer, which I do MUCH less of now! I didn t mind not eating when I was depressed but really dont want to go that way now since its unhealthy. I can stick to a program, I just need something to stick to. I dont believe the Atkins diet is right for me at this point of my life. I also dont have a huge amount of free time for exercising but could spend 15 - 30 minutes a day doing something like that. Im a 6 4 male. Weigh 225 lbs, medium build and am 35 yrs old... Thanks ahead!

My husband and I use Precision Nutrition by Dr. John Berardi. He has a website online. His nutritional program is amazingly simple, realistic, healthy, and not based on fads. Check it out... www.precisionnutrition.com

Weight Watchers. Try the monthly pass get online access. It is geared towards men now too. Don t forget to exercise too!I started WW s in January and have lost 30 pounds (unofficially, I go weigh in in 20 minutes) to date.Good Luck!

Walking and swimming.

Do lots of house hold work and eat well.

Do not deprive yourself of nutrition. To begin with, try getting into the habit of eating lots and lots of fruits and vegetables. Pears, melons, apples, etc.the basic problem people have with dieting is that they put the weight back on after the take it off and then a few added pounds. The trick is to take the weight off and leave it off so as to never have to diet again. In essence, change your eating habits. Get used to the idea of eating less and less as the day wears on. And, above all, trying staying away from combo platters and restaurants. If you begin in terms of eating only when you are home or taking some fruits, lunch bag, to work, the weight will come off naturally without dieting.

Gimmicks don t work. I ve done Atkins too, lost 35 lbs in 3 months, and a year later had put 20 of it back on. It s not designed for long term use (not for me anyway).Make a lifestyle change. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet all the time. Occasionall treats and no-nos are fine, but make it your life plan to eat right (lean meats, fruits and veggies, complex carbs, healthy fats, and drink lots of water). On top of that, exercise is essential to good physical fitness, and makes a big difference when we re trying to lose weight. If you can manage an hour a day that would be great. Get up a bit earlier in the morning, or workout as part of your lunch break...park farther from work or school or the store...take EVERY chance you have available to exercise (stairs instead of elevator, etc...you get the idea). I know people have busy schedules nowadays, but we can typically find the time to do the things that are important to us. Make your workout one of your priorities (break it up if you have to...2 half hour workouts or 3 twenty minute workouts a day if that works better for your schedule).http://www.freedieting.com/tools/ideal_b This site has some neat calculators that you may find useful. Ideal body weight, calories burned, calories needed, etc.You ll be on your way in no time to good physical fitness, that ll stick with you. Good luck!

You MUST burn more calories than you intake, period.

Try Sparkpeople.com. In addition to suggestions, they also have a support system via email. For exercise, try something like Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. You can do that in 15-30 minute increments (or really any exercise DVD with aerobic exercise). If your neighborhood is free of dogs, consider walking. Again, you can limit yourself to free time.

forget about atkins u might lose weight fast on it but its not long term, try weight watchers i did that and lose weight on it ,and i ve noticed that the guys on it lost more weight and faster than the women did, its a really good realistic plan that allows u to still eat ur favorite foods ,and still lose weight i d try that

well the one I found was super easy, I have a hard time sticking to diets myself, it limits your calories to 1500 a day and encourages an hour of fast walking. I have lost over 20lb in 3 months so it could work rather well for you use your fav search engine ask for a 1500 calorie diet and choose your menue for examples. then alter your intake so you can stay at or below 1500 calories a day.best of luck.

You lose weight through creating a calorie deficiency in your body. There are no tricks. With this in mind, you can come up with what you believe is a realistic program. There are three basic things you can do:1. Strict diet. Consume less calories than you will burn during your daily functions. And consume only quality calories, i.e. whole grains, unsaturated fats and lean proteins. No processed/white grain foods, cut back on the foods high in saturated fats and sugars.2. Intense workout routine. Work out as much as you can as often as you can. You can do a lot of cardio, weightlifting or best, both. This will burn many calories and in turn, create a calorie deficiency in your body, causing fat to burn.3. Combine the first two methods. This is easiest because you do not have to be as strict with both methods - you can eat a little more, and exercise a little less. This is the best choice.Just research what you are doing at sites like:www.bodybuilding.comwww.abcbodybuilding.comThey have lots of good, free articles for diets and workout programs. The most important part is finding something you can MAINTAIN. Too often, people choose a program too extreme. What you should be shooting for is changing your LIFESTYLE in a healthier direction. Otherwise, you re just going to be doing something that you cannot keep up and you will eventually stray from that path. The best way to stick to a healthier lifestyle is to educate yourself by reading through articles and realizing how much harm doing certain things causes your body, and how much good doing other things causes. And make changes gradually, not immediately, unless you know that you can handle it.***Red wine is good to drink in moderation (a glass a night or so). It s full of many good polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidants...it s good for your heart and cardiovascular system. And it helps you fall asleep, too! (Note: drinking too much alcohol leads to unrestful and disruptive sleep.)

All diets depend on the persons desire and will. You are wanting to lose approximately 1.25 lbs a week. This is very achievable and healthy. First things first would be to cut out any beer you drink, and if you must drink soda, switch to diet. However, obviously, water is by the best choice to drink, always. You can t go wrong if all you drink is water. This alone is a huge start. For a person who eats meat (like me) I chose eggs (hardboiled) and an apple for breakfast. This washed down with a large glass of milk (if you must) or water. Lunch can consist of just a salad or a couple of apples and again, a big glass of water. Supper you can think of any meat that is boneless and skinless that isn t cooked in it s own fat...grilled is a great choice. Along with a patato (spelling there might be wrong) and a vegitable and again water. Water will fill you up, so it is always a good choice. Drinking water all day long will help keep you hydrated and not so hungry. Celary (spelling again) has zero calories so it makes a great snack. With your free time (your 15-30 minutes) simply go for a walk. That is good for your heart and burns calories. You should have no problem losing a couple pounds a week doing all this. Water, water and more water is the most important part. You will lose your 30 lbs long before your 6 months if you stuck to this. NO SODA (diet if you must) or BEER! You could realistically expect to lose 2-5 lbs a week. Very healty range. With no calorie counting. Good luck.

Im considering going on the Pure Weight Loss Program and wanted to hear real results from real people. Thanks -

Since college I ve packed on some major weight and have went from a size 12 to a size 20. I m only 26 and enough is enough! I know that diet and excercise are the answer but I just don t have the discipline to stick with a healthy diet especially with my work and social life. I ve signed up for a free consultation with a Pure Weight Loss center but I m afraid I may just spend more money and not get real results. I ve tried the South Beach Diet, Atkins, cutting various other things from my diet and excercising but have only seem moderate results. Has anyone tried the program? Does it work? Is it worth the money? Please give me some advice before I spend more money and time just to be disappointed again!!! Thanks!

I have been wondering about that program myself. It doesnt seem like these answers give any information about the program. Please update me when you do go to the consultation. Also...they will try to get you to buy right then...leave your purse in the car. That way you will have to think about it before you buy. Dont be swayed if you dont feel comfortable. Please come back and tell me about it. Thanks.

i have been thru a similar situation n i had also signed up for a weigth loss program, it sucks believe me . i ended up spending money, the results are temporary. once the program is done, u will again start putting on weight, so dont waste money on it,one lesson i learnt is, there is NO SHORTCUT to weightlossit maybe be difficult for you to stick to a healthy diet, but thats the only way. also, do aerobics or hit the gym. u ll lose weight n also be healthier.n plz dont lose patience, diet n exercise are the only two ways to a healthy weight loss programAll the Best

Hi,I ve tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don t work!A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That s why I recommend you check this product at http://www.thin-quick.us where they have a free trial and you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling.Good luck!

I have used the plan, and yes it is expensive, but they DO teach you how to stabalize and maintain your weight for the long run. There is no trick to it, its eating healthy and exercising, you use regular grocery store food and you buy their bars, which are really good and really help me with my sweet tooth and my big appetite. Like I said, there is no magic pill that will make it work, if you are dedicated and take advantage of the counselors and products it will work, but its up to you, not them. Good Luck!!

Im overweight and i wanted to know if weight loss program from a dr. would actually help? -

would i go back to my weight gain if i decide to stop a certain weight?

people kill me when it comes to diets and exerciseive struggled with weight loss my whole lifepeople always want to try these new diets and stuffif you want to loose weight, you willtheres no science to iteat healthier and not a whole lot either, eventually your stomach will shrink and you cant eat very much at a timeexercise as much as you can, even if its doing a little extra cleaning around the house, you can trick yourself into exercise without feeling like you are exercising, you cant make excuses as to why you cant i dont have time make time at least 3 times a weekas you progress youll start to feel so good and youll get used to not eating alot and not eating the good stuffi eat very little and healthy monday through friday, saturday and sunday i eat whatever i please, but since my stomach is so small i cant eat a big bunch of it but dam* if it aint good!!i really hope this helps you, ive been doing it since new years and lost almost 20 pounds!!!! you can do this, but you have to really really want to, youll know when its time to get in gearGOOD LUCK, i hope i was helpful

Hopefully if a doctor puts you on a weight loss program it is a modification of your eating and exercise habits, and maybe some meds if you have an exceptional appetite. These are life-long changes, not just something you temporarily do to lose weight. If after you get to your goal weight, you go back to your old habits, then yes, you will gain the weight back. If you implement your new healthy habits for life, then, no you won t.

What is the BEST weight loss system? -

I wanna know a weight loss program with diet pills, diet and excercise that will make me lose weight pretty fast! i am pretty impatient but I would like to lose 20 more pnds. I recently lost 30 pnds but I had to REALLY deprive myself, take diet pills AND excercise! I just want to know a program that has worked for you and maybe I can get some ideas. Thanks in advance for all the advice!

The best weight loss program is a slow one. The slower you loose weight, the slower (if ever) you gain it back. If you loose it too fast, you gain it again too fast. If you use pills, you ll have to use them again after you ve lost the weight to loose the one you ve gained back later. It s not good to loose weight that way, regardless of how healthy they claim they are. The more natural your weight loss plan is, the better. By natural of course I mean eating right and healthy, excercising, and taking in lots of liquids (water and natural, fresh juices such as fresh orange juice, not soda)

IT S PRETTY SIMPLE CHICK you eat healthy food, and exercise. you get what you put in.

hoodia 100% works well.

I found a great way to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do body cleansing. I lost 13 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. Cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurites come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives etc. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To shrink the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. To learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. Cleansing was good for me. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://losebigweight.com

I use a Natural cleansing and detox system called Isagenix. It works great for me and so many people I know! I have lost 22lbs so far.I lost 12lbs in my first 9 day cleanse. It is totally worth it for other reasons too! I have more energy and sleep better too.Check out the website....Good Luck!

Don t wear clothes. and ye you have lost 20 pounds.

Long term lasting results require healthy diet and moderate exercise. If your diet is extreme, or your exercise routine extreme you are more likely to quit and then gain all over again. Best to stick to a moderate plan and stay with it. True weightloss is a lifestyle change.

How to lose weight quickly? -

im only 5 3 and i weigh close to 200 pounds...im 23 and dont wanna be this big, i have 3 kids, just had a little one 3 weeks ago and dont anticipate having anymore so i would like to focus on my weight.i would like to loose a bit of weight fast, how do i do this...i know loosing a lot of weight quickly isnt good, but i need to...please help...i wanna do it anyway possible...

There are lots of myths out there that will make you fatter and depressed like cutting carbs, fats and calories. See site below and take the time to learn the right way to do it. It also tells why you cannot lose weight too fast. Example drink 5 gallons water right now and it will kill you. Eat 20 pounds of food now and it will kill you. Lose 20 pounds of weight now-- what will happen. You can t do it, can you? Can you even lose 5 pounds in the next hour?Which has more calories: a plain potato or one with a healthy fat like olive oil (extra virgin and cold pressed)? The latter. Which is more fattening? The former. How can this be? The fat slows down the calories going into the blood (see glycemic load and glycemic index) making it less fattening.http://www.phifoundation.org

I think when people club the most they lose weight even if they dance. Or instead you could walk the track or go to the gym . There other solutions Report Abuse

There is no fast way to lose weight and keep it off. There is only 1 diet that truly works:1. Eat healthy meals in normal size portions2. ExerciseEach pound is equal to 3500 calories, and you burn about 2000 calories per day just maintaining normal body function. So if you eat 1500 calories per day and don t exercise, you will lose 1 pound every 7 days. If you exercise you burn more calories and lose weight faster (you can also intake more calories i.e. eat more when you exercise regularly and still lose weight.)The most important part is to understand nutrition. Once you understand how your body works and processes foods, you have most of the battle won.

I found this on this website. No matter how you slice it, diet is a dirty word. It smacks of deprivation and hunger pangs. To overcome the pain, you need a plan.So WebMD asked the experts for advice, and put together their quick tips on how to get your weight lossgoing.1. Know Your Weight Loss Goals2. Understand Your Weight Loss Personality3. Double Up: Diet Exercise4. Make a Firm Weight Loss CommitmentFinally, be sure you re committed to losing weight for yourself -- not because someone else is pressuring you to do so.Then, take things slowly, keep these tips in mind, and you should be on the road to weight loss in no time.More infomation the link: --http://www.loseweighthappy.info/index.php?option=com_content task=view id=151 Itemid=62

Eat only tuna and drink only water. You will lose about 5 pounds every 3 days. Trust me, it works. It s hard to stay on though.

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product (all natural) which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website http://weigh-less-feel-great.us , they have a free trial and you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling. Good luck!

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the daily calorie needs calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/ca This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.Beginners Guide to Dieting - http://straighthealth.com/pages/guides/b

Anyone using the SLIM in 6 weight loss program? -

I am currently using the Slim in 6 program. I have been surprised at how well it works! I am a dancer who was in fairly decent shape until about two years ago. I had two surgeries (appendix and gallbladder) in my abdominal area within 13 months and because I was unable to be active during that time I had gained 35 lbs. and lost much of my muscle tone. I purchased the Slim in 6 program and have had great success so far. I am happy to say that after 4 weeks I have lost 14 pounds and 17 inches!!! I feel great and am really noticing my clothes fitting differently and that my body shape is changing! I can t wait to see what the next two weeks bring :) I would definately recommend it!
