Can I have some general dieting/weight loss tips? -

I m following a 1400 calorie diet, and doing regular excersise.I aim to lose around 12lbs by September.Just wondered if anyone has any general tips? Thanks.

Hi !General Tips :Eat a high fiber breakfast.Make breakfast your biggest meal.; i.e. the most calories.Drink 1 gallon of water per day.Do cardio more times of the week than strength training. No soda.Make most of each meal fruits and vegetables. No fried foods.Eat dark chocolate at least 2 times a week.Eat low-fat dairy.Get 7-8 hours of sleep.

HiI have had good success when i kept a food diary - it helped me alot when I had weight to lose. You can also use this to keep track of your calorie intake as well. You may find that after a while your weight loss may slow down - or even stop totally. This is commonly known as hitting a plateau. When this happens you need to up your exerice routine, push yourself a little harder and do some different exercises - this is becasue once your body loses some weight it gets used to the routine - so to shake it up a bit you need to change things around. You also have to remember that when you start losing weight you are exericing for your current weight. So when you lose pounds, you need to exersize harder and more intensely for your new weight - this way your weight loss will continue and you will reach your goal. Hope this made sense!

Tip #1To make a delicious low fat mayonnaise simply combine one teaspoon Dijon mustard or one teaspoon satay sauce with low fat yoghurt.Tip #2Avoid skipping meals. Eating increases your matabolism, thus skipping meals can trick your body into slowing down its metabolism in an attempt to conserve calories during a period it perceives as a situation where limited fuel is available.Tip #3Stuffing vegetables such as capsicum and zucchini with tasty fillings of mince chicken, meat or tuna are easy to do and very healthy and low fat.Tip #4Pita bread roll ups or wraps with salad fillings, are great for picnics, school lunches or to take to work.Tip #5Exerise, exercise, exercise! Exercise increases your metabolism and burning off excess fat. When is the best time to exercise? Our metabolism slows down about 8 hours after we wake up, so 30 minutes of exercise in the evening, before dinner will increase your metabolism for about two to three more hours just when it was starting to slow down. This produces a significant increase in fat burned off, even after the exercise is over.Tip #6Adding alfalfa or mung beans to your salad brings in extra iron.Tip #7Good cooking and healthy eating begins with learning about nutrition and how to prepare healthy recipes.Tip #8Plan the week s family menus in advance and just purchase those ingredients at a once weekly shopping trip.Tip #9Be positive! The more you feel good about yourself the easier and faster it is to lose weight.Tip #10Learn how to make over family favourite recipes by cutting out fats, salt and sugar. Substitute non fat yoghurt for cream, stir fry minus oil and use herbs and spices instead of salt for flavour.Tip #11Please consult your doctor before beginning an exercise or weight loss program.Tip #12Eat slowly and chew each bite completely to decrease your appetiteTip #13Eat three small meals and two snacks daily instead of two or three huge meals.Tip #14It s a myth that you need oil to stir fry! Use chicken stock instead and cut down on hidden fat.Tip #15There is more fat in a plate of toasted muesli than a plate of bacon and eggs! Purchase non-toasted muesli instead.Tip #16Avoid removing the skins of fruits and vegetables - most of the nutrients are concentrated just under the skin.Tip #17Hot water with a squeeze of lemon before breakfast get the metabolism going for the day, helps prevent constipation and is excellent for the skin.Tip #18The best source of vegetable protein is from soya beans or tofu. All legumes provide some protein, so include lentils, lima beans etc into casseroles and soups.Tip #19Find a weight loss buddy, club, or support group. This will help you stay with your weight loss program.Tip #20Though difficult, try not eating 3 hours or more before bed time.

Then here are some good weight loss tips.Watch what you eat- Of all the good weight loss tips available, watching what you eat is probably the most important It is just a fact that you are what you eat, if it is going to be junk in its going to be junk out. Energy fueling and producing foods such as carbohydrates are exactly what their description entails, should the energy which it supplies not be burnt by exercise or your normal daily activities it will go to zone on your body with a fat reservation tendency. In other words you will pile on the pounds if you only eat and live an inactive life.Realistic goals- Do not set unrealistic weight loss goals for yourself. Take your overall dimension into consideration in other words your BMI as well as your endurance when calculating your ideal weight. A woman with a bigger bone structure with a height of 2 metres will look terrible if she sets a goal weight of 40 kilogram s. Stop comparing yourself to other people especially celebrities. Other peoples lives are not as rosy as it appears. Be thankful for that which you have been Blessed with.Food labels- Food label reading, dissecting and serious consideration should be part of each and every trip to the supermarket. Take the time to check what the ingredients are as well as the amount or level of each ingredient. Words such as saturated, trans fat and tartrazine should send some serious diet warning lights flashing. Calorie count should also be checked.Starvation- It is very important to steer clear from starvation and quick-fix diets. These types of weight loss regimes are only destined for failure due to the fact that the human body does not like any overnight changes to it. You body needs to get use to change at a very gradual pace. Quick fixes also have a tendency to back-fire terribly on the dieter, causing weight gain after loss of much more than the initial loss.

you have to be careful because the more you lose the less calories your body needs. so you may drop the weight fast and then all of sudden the scale does not move. You have to see how much your body weight requires and try to eat 500 calories less and work out for 500 calories. That will give you and average of 2 pounds a week. Fat is based off of 3,500 calories, 3,500 calories equal a pound. Everything else is water weight. Every time the scale drops 5 pounds you should be eating less calories, and changing up your exercises routine regularly. Go to www.everydayhealth.com and log on to calorie counter they will help you with this.It is a great weight loss tool, i used it myself and lost alot of weight after i had my baby. Sugar and Salt also makes up for fat, so you have to watch for that too. Too much salt will make you feel bloated and too much or too little carbs will make you feel sluggish, and too much sugar will make you feel depressed. During or around that time of the month when you crave food, your metabolisms is the highest, that is why you are so hungry, that is the best time to diet and exercises because you will lose the most if you do not give into your craving or lack of energy and motivation. This is my advice what worked for me (based on someone on a 2,000 calorie diet to maintain weight)Before you start see a physician, get a physical ask them to check your weight, iron level, blood presssure, good cholesterol and bad cholesterol, etc. so that you can have and idea of what kind of shape you are in, show them this diet to see if it is healthy for you to follow. Day 1: Have a detox and eat only veggies high in fiber along with 70 oz of ice cold waterDay2-6: Find out how much you are suppose to eat for your body weight and minus it by 250.( Ex: 2,000-250= 1750) 1750 is the total amount of food you are to eat before 6 p.m 500 calories for breakfast 500 lunch and 500 dinner and a 250 calorie snack, try to eat snack before 3 p.m. and if you are on the go alot make it a snack you can keep in your purse. and excercise to burn 250 calories along with 10 minute weight training. Along with 70oz of ice cold water. Drink at least 8-10 oz. of ice ice cold water 10-15 before each meal---because it burns your metabolisms before you eat. If you find yourself hungry, drink water and a piece of veggie 10-15 min. before each meal, veggies should be the size of a fist. (Only eat fruits, veggies, tofu, chicken, and fish, water and (1 cup) of milk no red meats, pork, pop, soda, or fruit juice etc. 7 day eat one cheat meal based on 1750 calories this shake up your metabolism and make them work faster for the following weekWeek 2 day 1-6 do same thing just reduce calories by 250 and increase activity by 250. You can use fat burner that has green tea in it and follow the directions. You can use other supplements too but ask a physician first. day 7 cheat mealWeek 3 day 1-6 eat same amount of calories just increase activityDay 7 cheat mealWeek 4 day 1-6 same thing just increase intensity. Day 7 cheat meal2 month week 1 ( gradually you can eat 1 serving size of meat) use food pyramid and make sure you are eating a balance meal. still no pop, juice, junk food, etc. making sure you do not go over the recommended calorie intake, at this point you may need to reduce calories and maintain work out and increase weight training. and gradually try to eat a balanced meal high in protein, and fiber, and get enough iron, and when you reached your goal maintain it by eating the amount of calories right for your body type and to stabilize your weight. Not all food are made for all people, some people can eat what they want and still feel great and others feel sluggish or have reactions, when you eat like this for 3 months it will be harder to go back to your old ways because if you do you will feel sick because you are use to eating good. This is a good thing. This is not a diet, this should be a lifestyle change. Change the kind of foods you like and each month try something new and place it on your plate nicely. Sit down to eat, try not to stand, watch tv or talk on the phone. Most of all have support if you are around people who eat what they want it will be harder for you to stick to what is best for you. Just like if you are quitting to smoke you can not be around smokers.

I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

avoid all sugars, even artificial sweeteners ( anything drink that tastes sweet, but has no sugars will have these) Drink water, if u dont like it just get used to it. jogging is great for fat lossdont be fooled by things that say low fat or reduced fat the fat u eat doesnt make u gain body fat.

What are some healthy weight loss foods? -

i work out from 2 hours a day id just like to know what foods to eat if i wanted to lose weight. like, whats healthy? veges grilled chicken and fish....any ideas?

Pretty much all vegetables are good. Some have a little more calories than others but generally they have few calories and lots of fiber. Also, if you like bread or pasta, try to eat whole wheat and make sure they don t just contain wheat but actually are whole wheat. They not only have fiber and less processed grains, but whole wheat has been found to have other health benefits as well. Try to drink plenty of fluids but not juice or soda. Drink water, and if you don t like just plain water, drink flavored seltzer waters that don t have calories or very few. People don t realize it when they drink all their calories because they don t feel full. Turkey has less fat than chicken, and make sure you eat baked chicken or saute it in a small amount of olive oil and use seasonings for flavoring (i.e. spices, garlic, onions, etc.). Try to avoid too much salt because that can make you retain water. You do need some sodium in your diet though. That s it for now. Good luck.

you dont have to change your foods just change portions.. eat half of what you would normally eat or about the size of your fist.

nothing processed and nothing too grease

working out 2 hours a day, depending on your type of workout, should be enough to keep you at a healthy weight. but i wouldn t be too concerned with weight loss because you might put on muscle weight. eat vegetables as raw as possible. eat fruit. all those cliches prove true time and again. and drink WATER.

Is it possible for me to lose...? -

My current body measurements are 39DD-40-42 and I would like to become 36DD-26-36? And I would like to do this by mid August this year. How possible is this? I m going to be cutting out junk food, mainly candy out of my diet which is the majority of what I eat everyday. I realize it isn t going to be a healthy weight loss but just wondering will my body suffer from anerexia? Even though I will still eat, but the dramatic weight loss I would be putting my body through I m just worried.

Your weight loss will probably not be as dramatic as you think it will. And you are the one that controls whether you become anorexic or not! Anorexia starts when you stop eating completely, then you could become very ill. The best thing you can do is to eat well....whole grains, fruits and vegetables, lean meats and low fat dairy. Cut out candy, junk food and soda. And get some form of exercise every day. Go to www.mypyramid.gov There you can find everything you need to know to be your best, healthy self.Good Luck

Weight Loss Tips? -

I am 21 yrs old and am trying to lose weight by eating less during the day and exercises but I am starting a new job which is 8-5 everyday monday-friday and wont have much time to exercise. I was wondering if neone had any tips as to what has worked for you; as in drinking water only all day,...I hate fruits like grapes, strawberries... I do not like the taste of them and so that s the part thats hard for me and so any help will do. Thank you!!

If u want to lose weight start exercising like jogging, cycling, swimming, skipping and cut sugar and carbs from ur diet as its equally important. For example i don t take sugar when i have milk and it was disgusting in the beginning but later i got used to it.If u do this regularly there is no reason that u will not lose weight unless u have any medical problem.I lost 2 kgs in 15 days though i was not at all fat and i used to do jogging only for 20 minutes daily.Do these exercises (called 8 minute workouts on youtube) regularly and correctly and u will see the results.http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssby1uuhyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnbhn7ysshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulifn-31bAlso try to avoid junk food, pepsi etc.Note:U have to be patient, sincere and positive in ur efforts.Good Luck

you should drink 8 oz. or more of water a day. it helps you lose weight. you can do 60 minutes on a treadmill and 30 minutes on an elliptical (both of these are available at any YMCA) and it really helps. you can go straight to the YMCA after work.

you need to find time to exercise. i was like you, get off at 5 and then i am so tired i didnt have the energy to get up and go out for exercise. now, what i do is, as soon as i get home i change my clothe..from work cloth to my work out outfit, put my sneakers in front of the door, eat a very sensible and light meal (something with carb to give me energy) an hour or so later go out and walk/run my buns off. if you want to lose weight, you have got to exercise. that is the only way. and if you dont like fruit, eat veggies. drink water. u will lose weight.

Effective weight loss: The issue of obesity has become more or less an epidemic these days. Low energy spending lifestyle, high calorie diet consumption and especially increase of junk food intake are the primary reasons for increasing weight leading to obesity in people lately. Effective weight loss techniques are quite necessary to avoid the health complications imposed by obesity. Some of these complications include risk of heart attack, depression, less reproductive capability and orthopedic issues. The best and obvious effective weight loss technique is increasing daily physical exercise. Surveys show that changing the lifestyle and dietary habits show good results in effective weight loss. In parallel to increase in physical exercise, eating proper and healthy diet gives encouraging results. These modifications in eating habits include dieting and crash dieting schemes. Dieting is widely used as a good means for effective weight loss. Generally, low calorific diet with rich fiber content is prescribed by physician to lose weight. In the human body, energy gets stored in three forms, carbohydrates, fat and proteins. Using energy burns some of these energy sources. The order in which they are burned is carbohydrates in the first, fat later and proteins in the last place. Inadequate physical exercise and less energy spending lifestyle accumulate fat in the body and hence these fat deposits must be removed first in order to decrease obesity and for effective weight loss because of this low carbohydrate diets are being prescribed by dietitians for losing weight. Fiber rich foods are given for effective weight loss in order to ease the digestion process since low carbohydrate foods are somewhat difficult to get digested. In the crash dieting scheme, a willful starving will be adopted for twelve hours. This starving includes no intake of any food, except for water. This scheme is implemented in order to decrease the weight rapidly. If crash diet is employed, instead of burning up fat deposits in the body, the protein storage is used up which in turn disturbs the metabolism in the body, hence crash diet is not recommended for effective weight loss. Instead, low calorie food with lots of fiber and water is always good for losing weight. This is a rather long-term solution for effective weight loss. When all the dietary and physical exercise weight loss schemes show no result and the risk of the long time taken for these methods cannot be taken, surgical schemes can be adopted. One of the most popular surgical schemes for effective weight loss is liposuction. In this method, fat deposits are removed from the body surgically. These surgeries are generally performed in periodic intervals of time. The effectiveness of this weight loss scheme has always been in debate. Patients tend to get intolerant to liposuction and the lost weight is recovered by the patient again later, hence liposuction is prescribed along with diet and exercise routine typically. It is universally accepted that instead of using effective weight loss schemes, it is always better to take care in order to avoid obesity which results in several serious issues.

Hi,Here are some helpful ideas, hope they help you. Good luck!15 Great Ways To Lose Weight FastWant to lose weight fast? It s easy to say goodbye to 10 pounds of unwanted fat with these easy diet tips. Just pay attention to what you eat and be sure to have good tasting, fresh and healthy food including snacks, fill up on vegetables and keep your taste buds happy with fruit. No need to make sacrifices! Just follow these simple guidelines to lose your first 10 pounds, last 10 pounds or give your weight loss program a boost when it seems to have stuttered to a halt. This is a balanced and flexible plan that you can use for as long as you want. 1. Keep a note of everything that you eat and drink. You do not need to estimate calories. Just write down what it was that you had and the approximate quantity. You will find that being more aware of what you are eating helps you to plan healthy meals and snacks.2. Halve your intake of all pure or added fats. This means using half as much butter or spread on your bread, toast, muffins and potatoes; half the usual amount of mayonnaise or sauce on your salad; and half the oil in the frypan every time.3. Limit treats containing sugar to three times per week. This includes chocolate, ice cream, desserts, cake, pastries, cookies, etc. 4. Include a lower fat source of protein at most meals: chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, or low fat yogurt. Have eggs, nuts and red meat occasionally but not every day.5. Plan at least one lunch and dinner every week without meat or cheese. Build those meals around whole grains, vegetables and beans to increase fiber and reduce fat. 6. Reduce the fat content in your milk products. If you are currently drinking whole milk, reduce to 2% fat. From 2% reduce to 1%. Choose lower fat cheese and yogurt. When you buy yogurt, also check that it does not contain sugar.7. Have at least two servings of fruit every day. This can be for dessert or snacks. Choose fruit that is in season. 8. Drink water instead of sodas, juices, milky drinks or alcohol. Avoid diet soda - the sweet taste only encourages you to crave sugar. Hot water with a slice of lemon can be very refreshing in the morning.9. Include at least two servings of vegetables at lunch and dinner. If you are getting hungry, have more. 10. Eat slowly. The body is slow to register when you are full and it is easy to eat too much if you are racing through your meals.11. Grated carrot makes a great snack. You will find that a grated carrot is much more filling than a whole carrot. Strange but true. 12. Use whole grains wherever possible. The fiber will give you a fuller feeling and also help your digestion.13. Choose food that you can chew. Again this will increase your fiber intake, and the act of chewing will make you feel more satisfied too. This means eating fruit instead of drinking juice. If you have soup, make sure it is chunky.14. Plan your meals and snacks ahead of time. Plan your shopping too - make a list of what you need and stick to it. If you just grab something when you are feeling hungry, you will probably choose high calorie food.15. Always switch off the TV when you eat. That includes snacks as well as meals. Studies have proved that we eat larger portions in front of the TV, probably because we are much less aware of what we are eating. When you eat, only eat if you want to lose weight fast. I like to have at least one day a week that I eat whatever I want, because I find if I cut out all thde foods I like to eat, sooner or later I will cave. It also helps to know that you have something to look forward to after all the sacrificing.

Any opinions on Lypozene? ? -

I m in the process of healthy weight loss (about halfway to my goal!) and I ve seen ads for Lypozene, which targets the body s core. Before I spend $$$ I was wondering if anyone out there used it and it worked, and if there were any side effects. Thanks!

People say that targeted weight reduction is not possible however if you happen to be faltering to lose weight from your midriff it could be due to additional waste in your colon, not additional body fat. You will take a supplement to rinse out up to 20 lbs from your torso, there s a risk free trial at http://pubelecs.kadieu.com

well if you are a guy, then you can just manhandle this situation by not eating anything but water and fruits for a week, and you will lose alot (mostly water and food weight), but if you continue this for another week, then your body will start using your fat supply and you will start losing like 20 lbs in one week. make sure you work out or else you will start to lose muscle, and take vitamins to supplement your nutritional losses.

Drink two tumblers of water on rising from the bed, and in a day drink at least three litres of it. One third of your food should be low calorie salad. It fills the stomach and gives less calories of energy. Avoid cream, ghee, sweets and fried food. Take regular exercise sufficiently, so as to burn more calories of energy, than its intake. The order of preference of food is (1) steamed, (2) boiled, (3) baked, (4) roasted, (5) grilled, and (6) fried.

I chew a lot of crushed ice (not so good for the teeth)I make sun tea and use =I have lots of low cal choices in the househard candy....ummmm....gum......i never get hungry, recipe for a binge and when all else fails i put on my skinny jeans and remember what is was like when I weighed 300lbs and not 150... yaa thats the ticketsuccessfully thinner for 5 years and counting!

I was able to lose 60 pounds in 2 months with this nutritional cleansing technologyit is the best weightloss product ever created in my opinionSource(s):reference site: http://the-fast--weight-loss.blogspot.com/http://weight--loss-help.blogspot.com/

Congratulations on your 15 lbs lost! The fastest way to lose fat would be to do a combination of weight training and cardiovascular activities such as running, jogging, walking, biking... Did you know that for every pound of muscle you build, throughout the day your body can burn an extra 35-50 more calories. Don t be discouraged by not losing pounds while you are weight training though. Muscle weighs more than fat and as you lose fat and gain muscle your number on the scale won t change as drastically as the way you look and feel!As for your eating habits... It is healthier to eat every 3 hours and have 5 smaller meals instead of eating 3 larger meals in a day. However, that being said you have to watch HOW MUCH you are eating. Your 5 meals should be approximately the same amount of calories. The reason you want to eat the 5 smaller meals (especially when trying to lose weight) is because you never want your body to think it is starving. When your body believes it is starving, it will try and store energy in your fat cells. Also, choose better snacks. If you have a sweet tooth, choose sweet snacks like fruits (strawberries, grapes, apples...). Almonds are also a good snack. Choose satisfying foods that will keep you full for longer. Instead of high calorie, low nutrient dense foods choose items that are high in nutrients but lower in calories. Also, watch what you are drinking. You would be amazed at how many extra calories people obtain in a day by drinking juice, pop, coffee, etc... Water is good! (However, do not drink water like it is the magic cure to weight loss. There is such a thing as water toxicity!! 8-10 glasses/day is usually sufficient)Good luck!Hope this helps! :)

Hi,,I used to have problem eating when I was bored. So try chewing gum (trident and excel: they r low cal) and hearing music because it really takes our attention away from eating. Try to lose 1-2 lbs/week. How many calories are u eating? Try 1500 because u r tall. Make sure u don t go over becasue its really easy to miscount calories. Sticking....hmm remember there will be days when u will slip ( I guarantee it) but Plz dont give up. U can do it,,, picture urself after the weight loss,,, and u will get the strength. Also avoid any white bread meals. They are not nutritious and low in nutrients. Avoid secret fats like dressings. Try to cook most of ur meals: most sucessful dieters do. Good luck. Remeber if u make a mistake, make ur next meal even healther just DONT give up.
