If I go from very little activity to walking every day, will I lose weight fast? -

I am a single mom and since I had my daughter my physical activity has decreased a lot. If I start walking every day will I lose weight?

Way faster than if you don t start.Yes I know it s a smart aleck answer but remember . . . you have to be smart, to be a smart aleck.The thing is, if you will just get started you will finally be on your way. You will learn to go farther and faster and before long you will be scampering along and looking for the most difficult routs, The ones that might have some stairs to run and down a few times or some low walls to jump up over and some little hills to sprint up and down. But all that comes as you get past the getting started part. Once you get started the more you will want to do and the more capable you will get until you have a regular habbit going. It take 3-7 days to start a habbit. Before you know it it will be the best part of your day. Can you conceive of this now? No! Why not? Because you have not even started yet.Get out their and get day one behind you. On day four and five you will be answering your own questions. By the end of the week you will have a completely different attitude about the whole thing . . . but not until you get started.

Yea but it depends on how long for like an hour or more yea and if you stick to a healthy diet the weight will go off quicker.....

yes. get good walking shoes and try to do 3miles a day and you ll lose weight and firm up... also, if you kick up your daily fiber intake you ll really lose weight... I believe in the 35 fiber grams/day and it s really helped me to shed weight along with the walking... try to do lunges and squats while you speed walk too. good luck and let me know how it goes. If so, do not cut calories and breastfeeding is a great calorie burner - 500 calories a day!I personally lost all my baby weight and then some by walking. In fact, when I went back to work I had to buy new clothes becaue my old clothes were too big! To lose weight through walking, you ll need to walk 60 minutes a day on most days of the week. You don t have to walk 60 minutes at one time, you can break it up throughout the day. What I love about walking is that I can take my son with me and spend quality time with him. Until he was six months old, I carried him in the Baby Bjorn carrier. He loved it and it was my sure fire way to calm him when he was fussy. Also, having that extra weight on me was like an extra calorie burner. He s now in the stroller because he s too big to carry.You ll need to walk at a brisk pace and get your heart pumping. To burn the most calories, your heart rate should be elevated to 60 - 80% of its maximum. This is known as your target heart rate zone. Good luck!
