Why isnt my eating plan working? -

Stats- 16, female, 143 lbs, 5 7 Im becoming very frustrated.. I have taken to heart all of the healthy advice I ve read everywhere, and made a conscious lifestyle change long ago instead of going on a diet .I eat about 5 times a day, average around 1800 calories, eat ALL my fruits and veggies, exercise for about an hour everyday with Sunday off..But I don t seem to be losing weight! Ive built so many healthy habits, in hopes of losing fat and toning up.. I see people around me going on low carb diets and such to lose weight quickly and it WORKS.. I know it will come back in the long run, but it s so hard to motivate myself when my weight is not budging and Im supposed to be doing the right thing.I am not a body-obsessed teenager willing to go to any length to become 90 lbs, I just want to be fit and toned. Maybe lose 10 lbs at most, but more importantly shed fat and inches. Any helpful advice?

May be you have started only recently.. and, to be honest, when I was 16 and I also used to do those things it didn t work either. However now I m pretty good looking. May be it is also the age and hormones whirling around..And if you are working out, you may not change your weight simply because you are building muscle mass wich replaces the fat. Better do not rely much on the scales, but buy some jeans, a couple sizes smaller than you can wear now, and if they start fitting you this will show you you ve lost fat.

Don t get discouraged. How long have you been doing this? When you work out your body retains water to hydrate your muscles, which adds weight when you weigh yourself. Also, muscles weigh more then fat. Just keep at it, and know that all your hard work will pay off and you will have a beautiful toned figure. Good Luck!!

Kel s you just made me your BIGGEST fan!!! I Love it! ALL your friends will FAIL. It s a mathematical certaintly. They will gain back what they loose, and then some. It s basic arithmatic.Yea.. NO diets! (high five!) My suggestion: To loose fat, you need to do lots of cardio workouts. Yea.. the tough ones. It takes time. too. There is no rush though. The more intense your cardio, the more fat you will burn. get yourself a heart-rate watch, and check yourself. Make sure your in the zone during your workings. If you re not in the zone -you won t burn fat.Body doesnt run on exersize. It runs on fuel. Eat clean. Veggies, fruits (i love dry fruits as a snack), Clean protiens. Whole grains . Do drink a lot -- but choose ONLY water. Flavors drinks (even diet drinks and energy drinks) are pure evil!!! Think gatoraide is good for you? think again. It s NOT. Thing 40% carb, 40% protein, 20% fats in all. Monitor THIS over calories. After all -- 6 snickers bars is 1800 calaries. It doesnt make it a healthy diet. We got a rule at our house about what we eat. If the first 4 ingredients have the words: Sugar, hydrogenated, high fructose, or modifed -- we dont even buy it. If fact, anything that says modified or hydrogenated is awful for you. stay far far away from this crap. lastly - check out Beachbody.com. I do P90X (very extreme) but they have P90 and 10-minute workout too. These programs work to loose fat, build muscle. My 8-pack abs don t lie.

The only thing I can really think of is that your eating too many carbs? If most of your meals are based around carbs it would take longer for you to shed the pounds. And eating 1800 calories a day would also make weight loss a little bit slower putting you at a weight loss of around 1/2 a pound a week. But with the workout everyday if you really are working out an hour 6 days a week that would burn about 1lb a week. So if your not losing 1.5lbs a week, try getting more protein into your diet and lifting weights if your not already to speed up your metabolism. Hang in there, it will be worth it.

What is the best weight loss program for teenagers? -

I am looking at losing 30 pouinds. What is a good prograam for this that can fit a school atteneding lifestyle?

Hi KeithA good way to lose weight if you are still at school is to try and join in as many sports activities as you can manage. Football and rugby are good as you will be running around a lot and burning off a lot of calories. Swimming is also a good activity as you will be toning up your whole body.Try and cut down on junk food and fizzy cola drinks but make sure you eat regularly well balanced meals 3 times a day (please do not try and starve yourself as this will not work and will only make you feel ill and lethargic).Take a look at the website below, there you will find reviews of the top 5 online weight loss diets. They are all good weight loss programs, just find the one that will suit you best. There are also some weight loss videos and a free e-book.Hope this helps.

Hello Keith. What a great avatar picture you have! For starters, when you mentioned a weight loss program regimen that you can use while in school; I immediately want to know what grade level are you in school? Middle school, high school, college, etc.My next question is to find out for what reasons do you need to lose 30 pounds? Are you overweight according to medical standards, are you needing to lose a set number of pounds to participate with a sport activity such as wrestling where you must weigh in a certain number or be disqualified? Lastly, weight loss is a big step and can be accomplished through making some healthy food, exercise and supplemental choices. Depending on the reason for the weight loss would determine some very specific ways to attack the weight loss challenge. For now, start with drinking plenty of water, exercising (walking) 30 minutes 3-5 times a week and taking proper supplements. I know the journey of weight loss all and can relate.Take good care of your self.

You need to make sure that you both excercise and eat right. Doing one without the other will not get you the results you are after. There are plenty of excercises you can do at home if you are busy and it really isnt hard to eat frequently and eat right. For great information on all health, weight loss and dieting tips make sure you follow the link below.

Does anybody know where I can Find a weight loss program that actually works? -

ALL weight loss programs work if you follow them correctly. The problem is not the program but rather the individual who after leaving the program returns to his/her former eating habits and gains back the weight he/she worked so hard to lose. Trust me!! I have been losing and gaining weight for over 50 years!! I haven t been on a program that did not work. I was the problem!!

weight watchers worked great for me.

Any expert will tell you eat small meals through out the day drink 8 glasses of water and exercise. Don t expect a quick fix.

Have you heard about quot;fatloss4idiots.comquot;? weight loss program? -

Is it again a bullshit program that doesn t work? and you just pay money for nothing but promises ?Thanks a lot!

Yes, Fat Loss 4 Idiots really does work. There is a great forum where there are actual Fat Loss 4 Idiots users active on there all the time. Go to caloriesperhour.com and go to their weight loss forums. Then, scroll down and find the Fat Loss 4 Idiots thread. If you go into that you will find a lot of threads where people who are using the diet talk about it. There are a ton of people on there that are using it and it really does work! It may have a funny name and sound like a scam, but it is not a scam. But, remember, no diet will work if you are not committed and dedicated to losing the weight! Until you are truly ready to change your lifestyle, then there is no diet that will work for you.Good luck!

Hi,I have heard about the fatloss4 idiots diet and actually it seems to be pretty good. I did not try it myself though. I found a website that has consumer reviews on diet programs, maybe they have one about this diet too. The website address is below. Good luck to you :)

no...its based on the idea of eating 5 or 6 small meals a day...that does maximize fat burn...how can it be ridiculos?calorie shifting works dear...

Can a quot;crash dietquot; be beneficial, or at least not unhealthy, if...? -

...after the desired weight is lost, one eases back into normal eating habits (that is to say, the amount of calories per day required to balance out the number burned) gradually? I know that crash diets (dramatically reducing food intake in order to lose weight quickly) are regarded as unhealthy, and from what I ve gathered, this is for two reasons: (1) You can t possibly get all of the nutrients your body requires on only 500-1000 calories per day. (2) Eating little slows down your metabolism; thus, when you start eating more again, you will rapidly gain the weight you lost back.Fact 1 can t be counteracted, but I would argue that the average person does not consume an ideal quantity of nutrients in the first place. What if the dieter, by watching his or her diet, actually *increases* his or her daily intake of vitamins, minerals, etc., even while consuming fewer calories than what he or she was previously used to, by choosing healthful meals and eliminating the empty calories that he or she previously gained from unhealthy meals? My main question is about fact 2. When researching how unhealthy fad diets were, the prevailing argument seemed to be, Once you start eating normally again, you ll gain all the weight back. But couldn t you avoid that by easing back into a healthy intake of calories (say, 1800/day whereas you were consuming 500-1000/day during your diet) gradually? Especially if you couple this with increasing exercise, it seems that you would actually *benefit* your metabolic rate in so doing. Does anyone have any evidence to the contrary, or any input at all?

First point can be addressed by taking vitamins etcSecond point - no there is no way around this, easing back you will still put on a disproportionate amount of fat, due to the loss in muscle, and decrease in metabolism. Also your body releases a hormone called leptin when you are effectively starving on a crash diet, and this makes your body suck up any fat you eat and store it more effectively.

If you know right diet info and method, diet is easy. If you are very serious, you need to have fast diet method that works for you. I recommend you my diet method for you. I lost 11 pounds in one month and it was very fast. You can do it too. You can get more info at this site http://bit.ly/W7xS2

the key is just don t do anything rapidly.... eat normal then eat little by little gradually... maintain this little meals (of course while exercising) until desired weight is gained... then start increasing your meal again to normal gradually...

I was referred to a program called Strip That Fat after I had my son, and I lost about 25 pounds in a month. The program promotes using normal food from your local grocery store, but it just tells you what to buy and when to eat it. It actually has you eat more throughout the day to speed up your metabolism. I had tried the South Beach Diet and Weight Watchers, but this has been my favorite program so far!! Below is a good article the bad effects of low carb diets and has referals to the site!http://www.squidoo.com/doesalowcarbdietreallywork

I had a really hard time losing weight after my 3rd child so I understand what you are feeling. I started taking a couple natural supplements and walking every day. Of course watching what you eat is important.

It not easy I did not use any, I used my own, its what you eat I have ready a story about someone who did that. You have to know what you are doing.

If you really want to lose weight you should take a look at my site. It has my suggested weight loss programs.http://www.squidoo.com/flabbytosexyGood Luck and Congrats on having a baby!

I am in this exercise program called Strollerfit. I get to workout with my baby! It is a work out group and a mommies support group. I really loved it.

I d recommend the Slim Habit. There s great support from Slimpals if you want it. No fierce diet regimes here...lose weight and lead a normal life!
