Im currently trying to lose weight, how many calories should I have in a day? -

What s the maximum and minimum daily calorific intake to achieve good, steady healthy weight loss? I think I may have gone as low as 1300 calories in a day. So far I have lost almost 1 stone.

RDA [ recommended daily allowance] for a guy in a day is 2500 and a girl is 2000in order to lose weight you should be burning off more than you are aken inexample if you consume 1500 calories you will have to burn off 1600+

Just remember that when you lower your calories, your body adjust to that amount and your metabolism slows down. If you for whatever reason start eating normal again, your body will have to adjust and metabolism has to gain momentum again. This is why people that drop calories to lose weight normally quit and gain the weight back plus some. Exercise is the key! I say lower your calories a little, and exercise. Time and Patience my friend.

When using medical programs like Jenny craig or weight watchers they put you on a 1200-1500 calorie diet per day. 1200 is a bit on the low side especially if your pretty active. If you have stones really make sure to add tons of water into your diet, it will help you a ton! Good luck to you!

actually I have been on a 1200 calorie diet for 2 and a half weeks now and have had enough energy to work out. So if you want to stick with the 1300 it sounds great to me. Just be sure to include lots of protein and fiber at each meal to keep you feeling full and satisfied. Good luck

It depends on if you are male or female. Try rather than counting calories, consentrate of healthy eating. Avoid too many carbs like bread a potatoes Eat fish, meat and loads of veg.

2000 if you are exercising for an hour daily.700 if you do nothing (just sit in bed) all day.So somewhere in between- around 1500.

yeah sounds ok, as you loose more weight and near your weight goal you should reduce your calories more...

You should aim to decrease your calories by 500 kcals a day. So 1500 would be a good amount to aim for.

Remember that if you are exercising you need to have energy. So don t starve yourself!!

If your a girl thats sounds ok - a bloke should have a few more say 1500

to start i say 1500 calories
