What is a healthy weight loss goal for 3 months? -

at the moment i am 5 8 and 140 pounds. and am completely unhappy with that. so i want to get in shape before high school, reinvent myself.i would really like to loose 15-20 pounds, but is that a reasonable goal for only 3 months?

yes i think that is a realistic goal good luck thats my goal to lose to

You probably don t need to loose more than 15 given your height and weight. You should try to loose 1.5-2 lbs per week. Anything more than that will set you back because more than that is usually gained back. Because you really have little to loose, you may find that you can only lose 1 pound a week. You should not cut calories severely as you are training your body that it may have a dwindles food supply and actually case you to store weight. This is our protection against no food back in the hunter gatherer era. This is why women hold more fat than men, we might have been pregnant or nursing when no food was found. Anyway, the best weight loss is a slow one and the one that is least likely to be regained. Since you are young, you should be careful as you are growing. You should have 4 servings of calcium per day. Make sure you take vitamins, eat foods in their purest form: fruits and veggies, grilled items. What is crucial to your weight loss is integrating some kind of cardio vascular activity. walk 4 miles a day. This is about anhour. If you are unable to get out ofr a walk, because you live somewhere hot or don t feel comfortable, they are television shows that have exercise routines and dvds available. You may even be able to borrow them from your local library. While you are there, read up on the food pyramid. Don t cut carbs too much as your brain uses up to 25% of the carbohydrates you take in. Good luck and remember: go slow, eat calcium rich foods, proteins, fruits and veggies. Exercise and get ready to shop. Remember, your dieting is going to be different from a person who is an adult. You are still growing and you want to build a good body as well as one that looks good. Good luck and get ready for those new clothes!

that is a pretty healthy weight actually. That is actually very doable depending on your body fat ratio. If you are 140lbs of muscle then it will be hard to lose but if you have a bit of fat to lose then you could do it. If you try and lose a pound a week that would be healthy and doable. Losing only 10 lbs this summer would make a big difference too...

If you want to lose weight I am going to tell you best weight loss program. I will tell you what a weight loss program should include. A real weight loss program should not promise fast or rapid weight loss. As rapid weight loss programs never give long lasting results. So prepare your mind if you want to have a success in your weight loss program. The real weight loss program will never be fast you have to be patient as losing weight is a slow process. For more details visit http://www.looseyourweight.info

Sweetie.....140 really isn t bad for your Height. If you lose 15 - 20 pounds you will be TOO thin.you might could get away with losing 5-10 lbs. The best way is to lose it slowly....if you lose it too fast more than like you WILL gain it all back quickly and probably more than you lost. Realistically losing 1 lb a week would be healthy. Talk to your Dr. or go to one of those sights that gives you an appropriate weight based on your height.

Reasonable weight loss is 3 to 4 pounds your first two weeks and then 1 to 2 pounds afterwards. In 12 weeks if you do really well you could lose about 24 pounds. However, 10 to 15 pounds is reasonable if you work really hard and stick to a healthy diet.

Hey I want to share my weight loss story . I managed to lose about 50 lbs. in two months . I were taking exercises every day and used diet plan from this website http://fatloss.jaggl.com . You can do that too if you want.

5 pounds a month sounds good!i am your jeight, weight 200 pounds(dont be rude i kno that i look like a cow!!! or a pig!!!) and at one point of my diet i was losing 3 pounds a week!good luck and b happy u weigh less than me!

Yes, actually it is. You should shoot for losing about 2 lbs a week, maybe 3. Anything above 3 lbs a week though is kind of unhealthy. You can easily lose 15-20 lbs in 6-8 weeks.

That is a very doable goal ~ you should lose no more than 2-3 lbs a week healthy and not put a strain on your heart or other organs.GOOD LUCK ~ YOU CAN DO IT !!!

I would set a goal for a pound a week - which would be a good goal and you will probably meet the 15 - 20 in no time. Good Luck

That not an unreasonable goal at all......!!!!!!!But remember....if you were planning to work out to lose weight...don t worry if u don t lose toooo much. Because Muscle weighs more than fat.

you should be able to loose one to two pounds a week and still stay healthy.

yes and no u should stay at a weight that u feel good about so its all no u but ya it good but your weight is not the only thing u can Chang try to be confident in ur self :)
