WHY CAN MEN LOSE WEIGHT FASTER THEN WOMEN? -

Muscle burns calories. More muscles, more calories burned. Men have a larger percentage of muscle, women have a larger percentage of fat. A healthy man should have somewhere around 12% fat, a healthy woman around 20-24%. This can vary with exercise, female bodybuilders can get under 10% for competitions, but they have tons of medical problems (including loss of periods, seizures, and heart problems).A man can build muscles faster larger than a woman can, thereby burning even more fat to provide them with energy. It s biology; women need the fat to sustain themselves and a fetus if pregnant (especially when food might be scarce). Evolution created a great solution for a problem most of us don t face anymore (lack of food, now Safeway), that s why it s so easy to gain weight so hard to lose it. The body wants it in case of emergency.

lots of the answers abov are correct...you guys forgot 1 vital point- the hormones!testosterones are made to burn more fat where else estrogen tends to accumulate fat if taken excessivly,so women hav to do more cardio than men,but strength training givs equal benefits for both..

Men over all have less body fat then woman, simply because of biology. They also tend to have higher metabolismes, meaning that they can burn calories faster.

More built in muscle and usually faster mitabolism. It also has to do with where men and women usually carry weight.

Men have generally faster metabolisms than women which allows them to eat the same amount we do but lose more weight.

There is no one answer to this. But I dont think that is a true statement. It all depends on what your body structure is. It doesn t matter if you are male or female.

Because we aren t lazy slobs who sit around all day eating ice cream and complain about getting fat but do nothing about it.

maybe because men are just physically more active than women.

Women require the fat to bare healthy children.
