Weight loss group San Diego? -

Hello my name is Silvia and I m looking to start a Biggest Loser type of challenge. (free)This will be an 8 week challenge that will consist of weekly meetings to see our progress, give support, and ask questions. This is all about providing some extra motivation. Our lives are built around work, school, kids, and all those in-between that exercise is about the last thing on our mind after a long day. So my goal is bring some fun and extra motivation since I have experienced a wide range of diets, personal trainers, and weight loss programs to know that we work too hard to continue to waste our money on information we already know. We are essentially paying for the proper motivation, so what s a better motivator than winning money with positive reinforcement along the way. I want to have a place where you will feel comfortable with your peers while breaking down challenges together. We are all in the same boat. We want to become healthier. No matter what diets you re on, I hope to bring some points about nutrition, motivation and self confidence to be happy for who you are no matter the size while connect with those similar to you. I m a very athletic 16 years old, i m 5 foot 4 1/2 and i weigh 138 but i m looking to lose 10-20 pounds in about a month...is this realistic, or possible rather? What do i need to do besides drinking a ton of water and staying active to achieve this goal? 10-20 pounds is way too much to lose healthily in a month, and to be honest, too much for a healthy active 16 year old girl in general. A safe rate of fat loss is 1-2 lbs a week. Your weight seems pretty appropriate. Are there any special diettary needs for some one who has had their gall blader removed? -

when i was younger i was very heavy about 240 lbs. after going to a weight loss program i losst a lot of weight i dropped to about 170-165 then i started to have some very intence pains i found out that i had gall blader stones and my gall blader was removed after that weight became harder and harder to loose. since then i have meet several women who have had the same problem with their wight and their gall blader being removed. we were wondering if there should be some sort of special diet that we need to be on?

Yes without a gall bladder your ability to process fats is reduced and a low fat diet is recommended

What can I do to lose weight, and get thinner? -

Okay, so I m starting to cut down on eating/drinking things with lots of fat and carbohydrates and stuff like that, and I do PE every school day for about 45 minutes. I walk about 2.5-3 kilometers home from school around 3 days a week, and I usually go skating or swimming on the weekends, and I go swimming once a week after school. I m going to continue to eat healthy and exercise. Any other things on how to lose weight, and make my stomach thinner as well? Not super skinny, but thinner. It seems simple, but if you just eliminate all refined sugar/corn syrup from your diet you will lose weight. You d be surprised at how difficult it is to find things without it!

Loosing the weight? -

please help I am 51 with several but not critical health issues, one of which arthiritis in my knees, eventually knee replacement. however, I am also obese, I weight 308 lbs about5/5 i searching for some kind weight loss program, that s inexpensive, (not jenny craig, or nutrisystem etc) I can t workout to much because of knees, and walking is minimum for now, so i was wondering what you folks have heard about or tried that has worked .Thank you

Try cutting back on the calories... perhaps ditching regular soft drinks for diet ones and replacing table sugar with Splenda - particularly in tea and coffee. I also like the one treat a day rule... it allows you to maintain your sanity while getting your eating plan in order. Plan a healthy, balanced diet and then allow one small not-so-healthy item a day (one cookie, glass of wine, or fried item, etc.), but only one and only in small portions. (With moderate exercise, I lost 40 pounds this way.)As for exercise, perhaps a recumbent exercise bike? They re easy on the knees and the back. Or a class that happens in a swimming pool - they re easy on the knees because the water takes away any pounding you d get in a regular exercise class. Also you don t realize you re sweating because the water keeps you cool. But they re definitely still a workout. With either, start slow and build up or you might injure yourself and have to quit.Also, see a physical therapist about those knees; perhaps some specific exercises or massage techniques can help.

Easy question. Please help!?!?!? -

Okay I m 15 and on a weight loss program. I was wondering what are the best and easiest exercise I can do at home? I don t haveany weights or equipment like a treadmill. Like if they re any sites with good step by step demos and whichbexercises will help me burn the most cals? Also, what is a good exercise to help me loss the fat rolls on my sides? Thanks much!?!?!?

Squats are always good for general purpose weight loss/toning. When you first start squatting, it might be smart to start with your back against the wall, slowly slide down the wall, make sure that your knees do NOT pass your toes. Once you get used to that, you can incorporate it in your walks. Once you get used to that, you can even add weights to work on your upper body while walking/squatting. As far as your lovehandles. That s a tough one. You ll inevitably lose a bit of that once you start losing weight consistently, but in order to tone that area, you ll need to work on your obliques. Obliques can be tough to work on, but I ve found that by doing diagonal sit ups, you get a good amount of results. Good luck!
