How to lose weight fast, but retain muscle? -

I am looking to lose 5-10 pounds, and retain muscle, and perhaps gain muscle as well. I know the typical, 60 mins of cardio a day. But I was wondering, I am going to have a lot of free time. Are there any benefits(or disadvantages), to say, going to the gym in the morning, doing my cardio and then in the afternoon/evening doing my weight training?

david, I have been trying to lose weight for about 6 months now and have tried almost every single weight loss pill thats out there... 99% of them don t work, I say 99% because I recently tried one that is starting to show some real results, acai berry pills..? so far I have been taking them for 2 months and I have lost 22lbs! YEAH ME.. 28lbs to go, but anyways I got them for free from this website, they may still be doing it.. not sure but check it out.http://dodealit.com/acaifreetrial/hope this helps,

You re not going to gain much muscle doing heavy cardio, no matter how much protein you eat. However, doing more full-body and cardio-oriented weight training will help strengthen and tone the muscles, so that when the fat leaves, the muscles underneath will look better. Use lighter weight and do more reps. And eat tons of protein.

one thing that you should keep in mind is not to over train, esp. since you want to have good muscle mass. do your cardio in the morning, and weight training in the eveningif your looking for some help visit my website maybe it will help you www.tofitness.ca

3 Tips to Lose Weight Fast1. Believe it or not it is important to eat some healthy fats in the majority of your meals. If you want to maintain proper muscle building hormone levels and fat burning in your body, eating sufficient healthy fats is vital. Healthy fats not only assist in burning fat and building muscle, but also helps with appetite control which is also very important when trying to lose weight. There are many sources of dietary fats, but the healthiest of them all are in oils such as extra virgin olive oil (contains the highest antioxidant level of all olive oils) and coconut oil (medium chain triglycerides), raw nuts and seeds, avocados, egg yolks (should be free range organic), and grass-fed meats (the conjugated linoleic acid can help build muscle and burn fat).Test this tip by eating about a handful of raw nuts about 30 minutes before you eat. Almonds, pecans, walnuts are healthy choices for this tip. This can help satisfy your appetite and also give your body some of that healthy fat we have been talking about along with some fiber and protein. As a result, you can intake less calories at meal time and still get more nutrition at the same time because of the high nutrient density of the the nuts.2. Eat high quality protein with every snack and meal that you eat. This can come from grass-fed meats and raw dairy or it can come from nuts and beans which provide an excellent appetite suppressant so you can stay on top of your calorie intake. If you are working out regularly, you need enough quality proteins to help you build lean muscle so your metabolism can run at a higher rate.Another fact that many people don t realize is that protein helps your body control blood sugar and insulin levels. It does this by slowing the breakdown of carbohydrates that you ingested. Be sure to have a protein source with meals.3. There is a lot of controversy over extreme low-carb diets, but in my opinion eating excessive processed carbohydrates is one of the main reasons that so many people struggle to lose weight all their lives. Avoid refined sugars and grain-based starches.Whole fruits and berries contain natural sugars that are okay to consume and the fiber in the fruit actually helps your body slow the blood sugar response. Fruit juices, however, are mostly sugar and don t have any fiber left because of processing the fruit.

How would you lose weight fast? -

Here are some easy fast weight loss ideas: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Drinking eight glasses of water is almost like a must. And do not forget to drink water in the morning, the moment you wake up. In fact this is one of the most rapid weight loss tips that the dieticians suggest to the people. Have organic foods for the breakfast like apples, bananas, plain yogurt, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, raw honey, wild smoked salmon, and so on. Keeping a track on the watch, go for an hour walk. It need not be power walking, but definitely it should be non-stop walk and thats for sure, in a couple of days only, youll start finding the difference in you. Another tip regarding how to lose weight fast, easy and safe is that you should have your dinner about 4-5 hours before going off to sleep. The two-point program that will ensure the ultimate success is: regular exercise and balanced diet. Dont depend upon fat burning diet supplements. They wont go a long way in helping you sustain your reduced kilos. Soft drinks cannot benefit you in any way. They contain 150 empty calories, so if you substitute one bottle of soft drink with water each day, it will do wonders for you. It will enable you to lose about 16 lbs per year. Sometimes boredom becomes a cause of overeating, so keep yourself busy. If you want to seriously control your weight, then you have to stop yourself from getting lured into trying tempting foods. As important is to pay attention to the fact that we eat the right food, equally vital is to keep a watch on the quantity. Without altering your diet plan, even if youll reduce 5-10% of your consumption, it will prove beneficial. Eat slowly so that you can get a feeling that you have had enough food and your tummy is full. Eat slowly and fully relish the taste.

Your not fat, but you should still exercise a little everyday to get in a even better shape, eat more fruits.

You already know that to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you consume. You ve tried dieting, keeping a food diary, creating an exercise regimen, and perhaps even hypnosis. It s now obvious that the problem isn t with the technique, but with your willpower. Old habits die hard. If you re having a hard time maintaining your efforts over time, here are some radical ways to break away from the routine.Hide these adsShow Ads [edit] StepsFocus on the tried and true. Ultimately, losing weight comes down to one key principle: Burn more calories than you consume. The steps that follow won t work if you have a thousand more calories coming into your body on a daily basis than you have going out. Lay the foundation for weight loss with these practices:Count calories and keep a food diary. Go on a diet. Cut down on sugar, high fructose corn syrup, trans fats and saturated fats. Burn more calories by exercising: Run, walk, even exercise at the computer you are sitting in front of now. Raise your metabolism. Big bowl, big servings, big weight gainDownsize your kitchenware. The human mind works in mysterious ways. It turns out that using smaller bowls, plates, and containers can subconsciously influence how much you serve yourself. Even nutrition experts are victims of this phenomenon; when 85 of them were given a random mix of small and large bowls and scoops, those who got larger bowls served themselves 31% more ice cream, and added on another 14.5% if they had bigger scoops![1] Put down the knife. By putting down whatever utensils you re using between every bite, you can significantly slow down your eating time, leaving your stomach a chance to feel full and reducing the likelihood that you ll go for seconds. Another technique that can have a similar effect is to take a sip between each bite. Numerous studies have shown that eating slowly results in eating less.[2] There s even a device you can get from a dentist that you wear to make your oral cavity smaller so that you take smaller bites,[3] and a fork that s so awkward to use that you ll get less food per bite![4] Know the enemy Make a list of the food items that are your weaknesses. These aren t always unhealthy foods, either. Sometimes we fool ourselves into believing that as long as we avoid the bad foods, we re making progress. At least, that s what we like to think as we get up for our third serving of fruit salad, or finish a bag of pretzels in one sitting, saying that they re healthier than chips. Remember that too much of anything is bad. You probably don t need to keep a food diary to know your enemies. Common culprits include soda, bread, alcohol, and fast food. Whatever your weakness is, cut down on it. If you cut it out completely, you re more likely to binge. Buy only small packages of it and have it only once in a while. If cutting down doesn t work, you might need to go cold turkey. Whole grain pastaChoose whole grains over a whole belly. If you switch out all of your refined grain food (white bread, food made with white flour) for whole-grain food (oatmeal, whole-grain cereal, whole-grain pasta, brown rice and barley) you won t lose additional weight overall. However, you will lose more weight in the belly area, which will make you look thinner--at least, that s what a Penn State study implies.[5] Not only will your slimmer profile make you feel better about your progress, but by losing the VAT (visceral adipose tissue) you re also doing away with a risk factor for type 2 diabetes, coronary vascular disease, and some types of cancer.[6] Check those labels and make sure that any grain-based foods you buy are made up of at least fifty-one percent whole grain.[5] Limit your spending. Some people have an easier time controlling their wallet than controlling their diet. Go ahead, cut up those credit cards, and build up your emergency fund, if you haven t already (in its own account, and leave the bank card at home). Limit the amount of cash you have in your wallet, especially if you re subject to spontaneous fast food indulgences. When you go grocery shopping, have a list prepared, and bring just enough money to cover those items (this might take a few dry runs). The embarrassment of not having enough money at the register will keep you from throwing a few extra items in the shopping cart. If you don t do the grocery shopping, then offer to take on this monumental role. Your family or roommates might complain about the absence of junk food, but you ll be doing them a favor by stocking the kitchen with healthy stuff. They ll thank you...later...years later. Set a digital watch to go off every two hours. Eat only when the watch tells you to. Spontaneous eating sessions (those times when you feel those hunger pangs, those cravings, and you scour the cabinets or the streets in search of satisfaction) are your weakest points. This is why all weight loss books tell you to avoid skip

How can i lose weight fast and only in one month? -

I am 13 help me

I know this doesn t sound like very hard work, but walking is a great thing to trim body fat. If you walk for about 30 - 45 minutes on a treadmill or just outside it trims a lot of body fat. Another thing you should focus on is eating healthier, its probably a thing you already know about, but just changing ur diet habits really helps. Just say you drink a lot of pop. If you drink about 15-30 cans a month and u stop drinking pop that is a cut down of almost 9000 calories (300 cal. per can x 30), which is almost 3 pounds..it doesn t sound like a lot but it is an extra 3 pounds. Chicken and Fish are also excellent sources of protein, which help build muscles. You should want to stay away from beef, steak, and hamburger, which is VERY high in fat. Another thing is obviously the exercise, i dieted in the summer for 3 months and lost 25 pounds, about 8 calories a month. Great exercises are the elliptical, treadmill, and especially bike riding, and also, I m 13 too.

Do all your daily things but don t eat any kind of junk whatsoever. No chips, chocolate, cookies, etc. I did that when i was 14 and i lost over 15 pounds in five weeks.

i am 13 too and this has helped me lose 2 pounds each day 1: eat between 1,500 and 1,800 calories a day (no more because it will make you think you already messed up for that day and you might just give in all together) (no less because it will make your body go in starvation mode and save everything you take in)2: do at least one jumping jack for each calorie you take in. (its easier than you think)3: eat your biggest meal at breakfast because thats when your metabolism is higher and you can burn more off than save. and dont eat after 7 pm because after that it is harder to get the calories burned off4: drink diet soda and water. youll get used to the taste and it helps alot. well good luck! and i hope i could help*

go out to the park with your friends and play some sports/ go on the swings. be active. dont eat junk food, soda. pick healthier choices to eat.

work out alot... as running... and get on a good food diet... as in very healthy food with low carbs.

people can advice you a number of ways and a number of diets for burning fat fast. But all these advices are bad.If you want to lose weight, the best way is to do it slowly, losing steadily over long period. fast diet can be harmful and can be counterproductive. In most cases after fast diets people tend to price themselves and they gain weight back at the same pace as the lost weight. So don t do it. Start a more healthy diet, eating everything, but under control (and less), do exercise.Good luck!

eat less exercise more

You don t have to starve yourself or go on diets, those things never work, if you lose weight, you will gain it back. Drink an oz of apple cider vinegar, it works miracles, mix that with extra virgin coconut oil,the weight will literally melt off.

Exercise and lay off the Cheetos.

Simple. Exercise more calories than you eat! Most people want some quick fix to weight that s taken months or years to put on. There isn t one. Short of loosing a limb, which would lighten the scales up considerably, you have to do it the long and disciplined way. This is the rule:For every 100 calories you over eat--daily--adds 5 pounds of weight to you yearly.

Eat properly 3 meals a day, no junk food, soda and do alot of exersise. Dont starve yourself. It depends on how much you want to lose but it will takea while if you have to lose alot. Be patient. You can loose about 5-10 pounds in a month. More than that is dangerous.

Do at least, 20-100 sit-up s per night, just before you take a shower.Do the sit-up s, then shower, because you will be a bit sweaty..lol.This will tighten your lower stomach muscels, give you a tighter 6-pack too.If you do this every night, or every other night, for a month or so, you ll start to see, and feel the differencein no time.,So, good luck. Also, stick with it, don t allow more than three day s go by without doing at least 10 sit-up s.Don t go too fast, just a slow, steady rythem, so you won t tire out so fast. You ll be able to find your own speed that feel s most comfortable for you.Peaple will start noticing your tighter mid-section, too, makeing good comments, so that s always a great thing, too.Wish you much luck.Mark

Some advice on how to lose weight? ? -

Hi I m 17 and about 123 pounds. I know its not a lot and I m not saying I m overweight or anything. I m a soccer player and really athletic but sports season is over and i dont have PE. I have lots of fat in my stomach and in my butt. I really want to lose that by june? I don t really have time to go the gym but I was wondering if you could give me some exercise tips from home? I can run maybe on weekends at school? Or walk every few days outside? I just want like tips: what should i eat for breakfast (is cereal okay? an egg?) and what to eat for lunch dinner (should I stop eating bread?) and for instance is it a bad idea to have a piece of chocolate once a week even? Please help I m really looking for a solid routine. I appreciate it so much!thanks!love, mia

Don t stop eating healthy. That is a healthy weight for an athlete. Muscle weighs more than fat, so it is not what you weigh. Trust me, most guys think it is better for you to be cool, fun sporty than deathly skinny. They can t play and have fun if you re hooked up to tubes at the hospital. You need to keep eating bread if you want to keep being an athlete. Carbs are good. Dieting at your age is bad.

for breakfast eat a healthy cereal with fruit in it its soooo good! [i eat wheat chex or special k with blueberries] and for lunch try eggbeaters [they taste just like real eggs excpt no trans fat or cholesterol and they are 99.9% real eggs] with whole wheat toast and for snacks try special k bars or if u really want something sweet u can eat candy like mike ikes or some other fruity non fat candy but not chocolate [although once in a while chocolates ok] and for dinner eat what u like but not red meat. chicken and fish are healthiest !! and drink lots of water!

Take walks, do push ups. Yeah maybe you should get something to go to a gym and go there on weekends or something.Eat healthy!

What is the best dieting pill?? that boosts your metabolism and helps u lose weight fast? -

To be honest with you, I used slim quick pills and they worked pretty well with me from the first 6 weeks I lost 25 pounds I was 155 and I became 130 lbs. that was last year and now I m using them back again after I bought Alli which did not work on me because I m not that fat person who can tear 15 gram of fat a meal. Anyways, I have been using them for less than a month and I have lost 4 lbs so far. That s it. Good luck!

tsk tsk tsk... why choose a pill!? not safe... do cardio... it s healthier and safer.... good luck.. God bless

How to lose weight fast!? -

I am 6 3 currently 230LB. Im not over weight but I have some stomach fat id like to get rid of and tone. Does anyone have any ideas?! Thanks!

exercise and diet as well as patience and being reasonable.

just eat half of what u eat every day

Go vegetarian and start running every day along with doing crunches to tone the muscles.

YOur definitely not overweight......it seems like you are on the right path because your choosing to ask this question...soo...good luck with everythingLet me give you some food and mini work out tips you can add. I m only doing this because you sound motivated and focused...Im a Vegetarian and Im super thin, and I always have a lot of protein, and I hate tofu loll ...and I have tons of snacks to choose fromI bareeeely work out ....and Ive never had a belly, big thighs, or big butt SO Listen k? I m pretty much perfect-its not cocky,i just am...Walk Walk Walk! and walk some more...its actually better than running....running makes your ankles weak over time. Do you want that when your older? I don t think so. I actually do the bike, which is amazing...the faster you petal the more calories you burn....the belly is actually burning fat b/c you are sweating. Not a lot of ppl. know that walking on treadmill/bike/or walking outside burns fat around the mid section...but it is so true. ALSO IMPORTANT: Do not use incline k? b/c your thighs will get bigger...try little to no resistance!! :) Walking also will burn the extra surrounding fat that is covering muscles (underneath it)...so definitely do a lot of carido. Try sit ups too like 2 to 3 times a week to make abs show quicker!Being a vegetarian or even one that eats red meat or dairy like ONCE IN AWHILE is the best to be one because you are healthy as a horse and you won t have that excess fat and food inside your intestines that most red meats do.Look, alright, Im not trying to promote becoming a vegetarian, but here me out k?Here s what I eat and my protein is perfect and I m super healthy and have tons of snacks to choose fromHaving a high protein diet is good in loosing fat, because the more protein is in a food item the less total fat and calories from fat!I eat lots of beans (Lima, Soy, red kidney, black, navy- RAW; never in can(but that is just my choice-if you wanted canned its NOOOO PROBLEM)Try Quinoa too, you can find it in your grain, beans, or nut aislesI also eat lots of salad with tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, carrots-yum yum!The entire kosher aisle has manyyyy products to munch on!Also, Some Kashi products are great to snack on!Try Edamame too!- tons of protein and tastes delicious! (Veggie section even though its a bean loll)Dairy (if you eat it): cheese-I d suggest you go for this yogurt called Fage 0 or Chobani yogurt (it has about 15 grams of protein in it I believe)... Ummm lets see, what else? Theres Goat cheese and ALL goat products which I consider to eat if my protein is too low (but that is rare b/c I usually get my protein in evvveryday. ALL vegetables are fun and easy to cook-I like broccoli, asparagus, yams, pumpkin, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower-and you can do whatever you want with it (fry, boil, steam, baked...etc.)Have you ever heard of Matzo s? they are crackers that have 4 grams of fat per serving (1) and only has 21 grams to 27 grams of Carbs in it depending on which version you get. BUT make sure you get the 100% whole wheat ones ya know?-just to be the healthiest. There is also absolutely no sugar in it either (sugar if not burned turns into fat btw).. The calories range from like 90 to 140 calories too! Oh, did I mention they are extremely delicious!? (Kosher aisle)Motts applesauce, no added sugar is one of my favorite things to eat too!You can find organic applesauce too which provide different flavors without added sugarAll no added sugar products are phenomenalNOTE: BEEF, Oh my god -it is very bad for you and does not leave your intestine for months and months (look it up on internet...its the worse food for you-unless used in moderation and VERY VERY small portions)Brown rice or even white rice is great tooMiso soups are fantastic as well as any other soups (especially the ones with very little sodium)Fruit is ALWAYS a great snack at night!Ok, thats all I can think about now off the top of my head, if you need to know anymore then just message me k?Take care(I know I went on a rampage here, but I honestly hope this helps!)xoxoxox

Simply eat less and exercise.

Hey, the thing I m trying is, go to the gym (or if you have a swimming pool with a gym) and work out 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week, for a month you you ll get stronger and lose weight.I am 6 tall, and 287 lbs. I am way over weight, and this is working for me :D. I am probably younger than you anyways...

Try doing Tae Bo or take up Tae Kwon Do classes it s great to get muscle and tone up too. Other ideas are to jog, run, or treadmill at a gym. Lift weights and do ab curls, crunches, or hanging leg raises for your ab muscles. Jack Knives are good for the abs too. Running long distances is good to burn fat and tone up too. Swimming in the summer time is another good aerobic exercise. Eat nutritionally good foods too, like veggies, fruits like pineapples are awesome I love them just had them tonight for a dessert. Keep motivated by writing goals down on paper and put them where you will see them. I hope I helped !!

since you are tall and probably muscular you are fine. you could try some exercises like crunches and lifting weights which build up your muscles and help to tone. try running if you like it. try to cut sugary drinks like pop because you might crash. but still eat, because you re probably still growing, and if not, you obviously still need food.

Try the Little Jack workout.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr it works great
