Im such a failure at dieting? -

I joined this fancy weight loss program and it did work for me i lost nine pounds the first week which was amazing. then the pills they were giving me gave me really dry mouth and i started freaking out because we werent allowed to eat bread the first week. than the second week came and i had the worst stomach pains in the world and threw up constantly what sucks the most its the excuse for me to eat something becasue i havent been eating any carbs for two weeks i feel like i gain weight again and now i have to go weigh in for another meeting do you think i should continue this program and just give up on dieting alone. ???

I think the minute the diet eliminated a category of food and required you to take any kind of pills you should have dropped out of it. I do not suggest you give up on dieting, but I do suggest you give up on using programs and diets like this one. A sensible well balanced weight loss diet does not forbid any type of food, nor does it prescribe specific types for extended periods of time. It also doesn t require pills or potions. A decent weight reduction diet should be easily tailored to your particular food preferences, and use items you can buy in a regular supermarket. The only thing it might recommend adding is a multivitamin/mineral supplement, and that should also be one you can buy at the local grocery. You have fallen into the usual diet trap, and it s not entirely your fault- so I wouldn t kick myself too hard. A much more sensible solution would be to pick a better system. I recommend Weight Watchers. They have been around for absolutely decades, and the program works. It s not fast, but it is healthy and sensible. It doesn t require weird diet combos or foods, and you get to design the diet that works best for you. Sign off this current program, and check out Weight Watchers.

I would try something else if it is making you sick that is not healthy for your body, if you want to try something and you can eat whatever you want and they don t make your mouth dry or anything like that its called Max WLX, its great and you can lose 21.5 lbs in 8 weeks and its 90% more effective than any diet or exercise, and still eat the foods you love, and without counting calories.

hmm i have an idea::in the morning if you can wake up pretty early, thats when you have the most energy! drink a bottle of water plug in your ipod or whatever and listen to music as you run! -- thats my first step.Then you go home, eat a really healthy breakfast like fruit salad or something thats nutritonal. After that you pretty much clean the house or whatever maybe take a walk while its cool, walk your pet dog, if you have one, i like to spend the morning doing that while its not so hot outside!After that you wait a few hours being active as can be, then you relax a little and do some sit ups and lift weights to your own schedule... and your own statistics like weight height goals.. or whatever.. thats what i usually do! And then i like to stretch at the beginning of the day.. hahaMORE TIPS: chew gum - sugar free. It makes you not snack because if you chew it, you dont want to snack because then you will have to spit out your gum! works for me.. thats my trick tip - now read the losing weight 411EXTRA: breathing for an hour burns 60 calories, so thats a little lift off your chest hahaand sleeping is the same rate :)excersise at least 60 minutes a day if you can :)-------hey, you know what? Stay away from starchy and high carb foods - mostly white things. Bread is a bad, so try to stick to thin, HIGH in fiber, slices :) you can google all the stuff and before you know it you will feel so good about it all and IM actually excited to start working out and all that, just because I know what it will do for me!but if you must go with a diet, try Weight Watchers, its the only one I actually recommend. :)

Are any of the weight loss products advertised on TV really effective? -

Not really. The viewer has to be ever cautious of the word virtually . I find it insulting that such commercials are peppered heavily during daytime TV talk show hours because TV execs carry this demographic belief the tuned in audience consists of a bunch of mindless morons who are gullible to fall for such commercial scams.

well the sauna belt really works .. im using it n works but not as they show in TV that u ll loose 2 in 50 mins .. but it really makes u sweat n few days u ll feel lighter .. but u have to take care of ur diet too ..

well, that depends on your defenition of effective . yes i m sure that a few of them will shed the pounds and a few are scams, BUT the real thing here is what is it doing to your body? no magic pill will solve your weight problem the only thing that will ever do it is a perminent diet change and exercise rutine - there is no other way. the diet industry is so succesfull because of that fact. think about it, if the diet pills and diets actually worked there would t be that many fat people because the pills and diets would keep them slim. but the fact is they don t. if your serious about losing weight here are three simple but highly effective tips1: eat based on colors, get all sweets and processed food out of your diet. no sweat cereal in th morning, no candy bars, no coffee, no surgar drinks like soda or fruit juice you eat fruits, vegitable and meats and breads in good FILLING quatities and you try to eat as many different colors of food as you can. the colors of the food should be as vibrant as possible (all though whole grain oatmeal and breads arn t exactly vibrant but they have their own rich colors). you drink water and milk and caffien free tea. now you will likely have surgur cravings for a few weeks but trust me these do go away, i had the same thing when i started a few months ago.2: exercise, but exercise differently from what you have probably been taught, long walks are good to start, and jump rope is great as well if can do it. sprints up hill (or what ever close aproximation you can manage, don t hurt yourself take your time and find your pace) will take poounds off fast. for your arms you need look no further than the pushups and pullups in their most simple forms. these will knock fat opff you like a jack hammer. DON T even think of doing long distance running, your litterally running yourself into the ground (6 feet under)3: your attitude will controll your results. wierd as it may sound if you don t believe what i said to be true it won t work for you for, or it may work a little bit and then bounce back. but if you believe you can lose weight and its not rocket science than you will succede and every one will be asking you how you did it

No. Every day, every month, every year there s a new found weight loss program that most registered dietitians would suggest you stay away from. They last for days, months and sometimes years.... but they all are shown to fail and be a waste of money... and sometimes a danger to your health (all of them).Watch your calorie intake.Watch your saturated fat intake.Watch your carbohydrate intake.Watch your sodium intake.Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains.Add common sense , exercise and stay away from fast food you ll probably do fine!

Not for me. I have tried slim fast, the green tea diet, ultra slim, atkins etc... Only thing that helps is if I quit drinking cokes and drink water only and cut back on bread, pasta, and sweets. Oh and EXERCISE!!!

Have you ever noticed that ALL of those advertisements say, when used with healthy eating habits , or some such? Makes you wonder.

No the only good diet that i know of is eating less and exercising but some are becuase they flush out toxins in your body and some can make you very sick and have to go to the bathroom alot

NOthe best way seriously is simply a healthy diet and some exercise. Becareful with exercise most people think it is running a lot, but if your trying to lose weight you want your heart rate to stay in fat burn mode which on average is 180 - your age, e.g. if your 30 then your heart rate should not go above 150. a fast walk would do this.

I recommend jogging in the morning before breakfast for about 20 minutes, this burns fat already stored in the body! Follow that up with breakfast. Eat every 2-3 hours and eat healthy foods such as: whole grains, oatmeal, eggs, cottage cheese, natural peanut butter, green veggies, whey protein, tuna, lean meats like chicken. The south beach diet is a good way to realign your eating habits...and it wouldn t be so popular if there weren t results. Worked for me.

Diets don t work people! Cut out the crap food, such as candy, fast food, sugar, etc. Every now and than is okay, but not constant; as long as 70 percent of the food you put in your body is healthy and nutritious, than you can get away with the other 30 percent. Also, cut down on your carbohydrates a lot, this helps to lose pure body fat. Good luck. But remember, if you cut out the foods you desire completely, you may relapse. I m not kidding, so remember, every now and than is fine.

Would you recommend weight watchers? -

I want to start some sort of weight loss program. Has anyone had any success with weight watchers? I don t want to sign up if it s not helpful.

Weight Watcher is a good program. I used it over the summer and lost 10lbs. Thats all I wanted to loose but I still follow the program because it keeps me at my ideal weight.Good Luck!

Personally, I ve never used it, but lots of people from my church have joined weight watchers and I ve noticed amazing results.

Hows this cardio daily exercise sound? please answer!!? -

Every day i complete all of the following.. (i am in a small room so bear with me!!)- 200+ implace jog- 50 jumping jacks- 50 hops- 50 squats- 50 squat-jumps(squat and jump up 1-2 inches)- 50 knee up each leg- 100 crunches- 100 reverse crunches (knee up 90 degrees)(switching arms and head out for legs)- 200+ jog in placeHows this sound? i am also drinking 3 bottles+ of water a day, 5-6 Small meals a day, replased for 3 big meals, and i am on a healthy diet, including pita wraps, white meats, and fruits and veggies. Does this sould like a good weight-loss program? Thanks!!!

I have a few suggestions, points and tips, this I m assuming your trying to loose or maintain weight:-squats ain t cardio, its more of muscular endurance-try jogging outside where you get more fresh air, the easier it is to breath the more you can push yourself-If you live in an apartment or a two floor house try hopping and running up stairs, I usually take turns between each-Herpies can be really helpful-make sure you slowly increase the amount of reps you do-Make sure you have a motivation, something to keep you going-Music can always help you push yourself to the next level-I d recommend some milk products, milk or yogurt (try to avoid butter or cheese because of their high amount of calories/fat)-An egg every other day could be a healthy choise-Don t be discourged by low weight loss, you are still loosing fat how ever at the same time gaining muscle, in the end it ll be the inch s that make the difference-talk to your doctor about your fitness level and how if this program is right for you-If you are really dedicated try swimming, this is great cardio workout and the natural resistance is only a plus, you won t be getting blisters at the end of your feet-Make sure you stretch thoroughly before doing any of your work out, but DON T over stretch-If you are into a sport try basing your exercises on skills you ll need for this sport, no harm in become more athletic as you become more fit-After you re done your intense work out, don t immediately sit down, walk it down

wow, it sounds really good!but when you say 200 inplace jog, what do you mean?like 200 steps or 200 min? haha... if youre going to jg do it for 30-45 min to burn more cals.

I think it sounds like a good plan. Also, jumping rope can be fun if you get bored with just plain jumping. Lunges are also very good to do!

well, im just a kid so dont tell me to join a weight loss program or buy some fancy food, i just want to know what i can do to lose 80 lbs the healthy way.

Look i do belive that sports and exercise is the best way ever to burn fat along with eating health meals (that doesnt mean that u have to submit to any kind of diet) its all abt the calorieo defect if u manage to consume less calorieos than ur body needs then u will burn fat For example if ur body needs 2000 cals per day just to maintin ur wieght then if u need to burn some fat then u have to create a cal defect by cuting down 500 cals per day u can do that by reducing ur cal intake by 200 cals and do some aerobic classes or running or any kind of sport to burn other 300 cals I am sorry iam making this long but i just want u to get the idea One other thing that u have to understand .. burning fat and getting in shape and having a lean body is all abt the body fat percentage if u manage to reduced to reach the optimum level ... then u will have a lean body In women ur body fat have to be in range betwen 18% - 21% In men 8% - 14% Here are some tips and and fundamental basics that might help:1st - you need to reduce your calories intake by eating balanced healthy meals containing all sufficient daily needs(proteins - carbohydrate - Fats ) For Example - Protines are very important on dialy bases caz a women in age btwn 19-70 needs to consume 46 grams of protein per day so you dont wanna miss that 2nd - avoid hunger : this is the most important thing you have to keep in mind as the more hunger you became the more weaker you will be infront of food and you will be forced to eat any thing .. try to eat at least 4-6 meals per day with snacks in betwen (fruits yogurt)3rd - correct your bad eating habbits such as -combining food with entertainment and watching movies and tv -eating to relieve stress and to ease pain -Eating on the run 4th - Dont torture your self by prohibiting certain types of food and desert .. just reduce the amount .. and know when to eat it .. dont eat any thing contians suger or fats at night .. eat wat you want during the day with low amounts caz the body starts to reduce metabolism rate at night Excersise : Try steady cardio tranin , runnin for abt 30 to 45 min (speed doesnt matter steady cardio) continously non stop but u know dont try to do it to much caz some researches referd to it may have some cardiovuscler effects on the long run along with some immunity effects yet nothin is scientficly proved but just to be on the safe side :D Try Sprint running for as much time as u can with 8 counts of pushups after each round of runnig then take rest for abt (1 to 2 min) as u can take ur breath then repeat it again Try all Running and jumping Training such as lunge runnin ,two legs jumpin ,side jumping, one leg jumping ect.... Rope jumping is an excellent execrsie that extremely burn fat and increase fitness and stamina level try to do it with all techniques (two legs jumpin, one leg, crossing hands) just to entertain your self and never get bored U also have to do all abs exercise and do it with all diff forms and techniques just to make sure that u cover all the area and get all the muscles work also you can try boxing .. u dont have to engage with fightin in the arena :D but u can do the tranin punshing the sandbag and some shodwo boxing punches would do alot of work than u can imagien Well thats it hope u find it benficial and good luck

Well it all depends, do you want to lose 80 pounds and keep it off, or risk gaining it back and most likely more pounds along with it? Because Diets don t work, the latter always happens.Eat raw Veggies, learn to love them - it s gonna take a year to really get a handle on things and control your diet. Keep carbs and protines for breakfast and lunch, have something small for dinner.Portion your meals smaller, but you can have up to five meals a day this way. This way you re shrinking your stomach and making your metabolism work faster.Get fiber powder and protine powder along with a blender or juicer and start blending fruits together, or your veggies together. You can get the powders from a health food store or from GNC. SMOOTHIES Go to Barnes and noble and get a book on smoothies :DIf you can t eat veggies, do a cleanse. Only eat the broth of soup ( Walmart) and lots of water. After 4-7 days of this a salad will taste wonderful, happened to me and I HATED water and veggies. Cleansing gets the toxins out of your body.Oh yeah a colon cleanse can knock off a few pounds as well as get rid of adult acne and give your lots of new found energy after it s ever. Yes I said COLON cleanse. 90 % of illnesses occur because of built up in the colon. Your rectum could be 12 inches around and you d still be shitting out of the size of a pencil hole on any American diet, lolz. They say death begins in the colon. 1 in 3 people get colon cancer. Anyways a colon cleanse in similar to the cleanse mentioned above. Just go to GNC and asked about it.Start small but get some exercise, walking, riding a bike, some cardio. Well, I ve a had friend of mine do this, she lost 40 pounds but it took almost half a year. So have a lot of time and patience in your hands, first of all.This is what she did:1) Exercise. I play rugby, basketball two hours a day, and I do salsa (dance). Get in shape by working out whenever you can. Don t make it a chore, because it doesn t have to be. 2) She ate smaller amounts. For starters, ditch the junk food. Would you rather unhappy with yourself continually or overeat? Eat smaller, healthier portions to also boost metabolism.3) Optional--don t eat dinner. That s just a habit for her, and that what I ve been trying to do too. I just eat some cold and fresh watermelon, which really fills me up. Dinner is the least important meal of the day. 80? wow that s hard well start it by exercising daily. You can skip (the jumping thing) 2 times daily or if you can 3 times, you can also try a long distance run every day or go ride your bike (if you have) and more importantly follow the proper eating diet. like eating veggies and fruits instead of eating unhealthy foods with lots of cholesterol and fats.........

Small amounts of food very often increases metabolism. Which helps weight loss. Fruit is very good to eat as a snack though and you might even find yourself enjoying it if its a home prepared fruid salad or something.Eat when you wake up, nothing big, just average, this meal has to be a proper meal though. Cereal would be good.Then if you wanted an apple or something at 8?Then lunch, don t have anything too big for this kind of weight loss to work, then you have a snack if wanted at about 12. The key here is small though.Believe it or not, these diets DO work, but you have to continue this kind of eating throughout life, otherwise when you eat normally, you will find that weight will start to mount up again. It s a small price to pay though right? This is why people who eat frequently don t put on weight.You could also try 32 chews? You chew everything that goes in your mouth 32 times. Your stomach thinks more food than that s going in is being consumed and you burn some body fat. It also fills you up quicker, which means you eat less.If you chew on gum it also has the same effects but since you do not consume anything it gives you wind and can cause ulcers if you do it all the time.
